Great video! Just getting started with satellites and using software. previously only done it with a handheld beam and 2 baofengs. working on getting the ICOM 9700.
Are you aware that Tom Willett (Featureman) has a criminal record involving inappropriate conduct with minors? He was involved in incidents with several boys decades ago and operated a questionable website featuring young men without shirts. The ages of these young men were not verified.
DX the CB Band, grew up listening to the Caucasoid version in west Phoenix, Dad and I un "tweeked" a ton of rigs. All done up and ducting in our collective white privilege, out of band in the slots Side Band then, then... We all got our Ham Licenses and Grew Up!
Awesome!!! Thanks a ton....fyi, I just guessed at the BF-H7 software (it's set up differently than the one you use in your video). I went to the second from the right (which I got from you...so thanks for that), then selected the second option (shows disclosure arrow) and then second option again (in the disclosed drop down) for english.
As a ham who has to stick within his boundaries I still appreciate that his audio sounds so sweet. He has his audio chain on lock and his big amp behaving nicely. Props.
You don't have to stick within any boundaries except on like one or two obscure bands. You could put out a wide SSB or AM signal and still be legal. Not that legality matters but I know hams love being legal all the time. Just an FYI.
hello friend, i am brazilian and i am looking for a polarizing filter for a vfd display - Vacuum fluorescent display, originally it is green, i would like to change the color to orange or amber, i intend to restore a display of a pioneer sound equipment, but I can't find where to sell this, could you help me with this search?
Hi Marco, you can try using lighting gels. They are colored clear plastic. They don't cost much. goto amazon and search for "lighting gels". I hope this helps!
I know this video is a few years old but I have a question with the new version of hrd you might be able to help with. I got the remote to work within my lan. I can control the rig from another pc I my home. However, no audio. You make it look easy by just sliding at af gain and sound. Did you do anything on the host computer to pass the audio? I configured the remote server and shutdown hrd on host. No problem. Did you first configure the sound card in hrd on the host before you shut it down? I think I am missing something. You mention Skype but you didn’t show putting Skype on the host. I am trying to figure you out exactly what you did to get the audio passed from host to remote? I have an icom 7300. Thx for any help
Hi Rick, HRD remote access doesn't pass audio. Hence the use of skype. I setup a skype account and only allowed it to receive calls from a 2nd skype account. Thats how the audio got transferred. A horrible way to make it work, but it works. I really wish HRD would have an audio solution.
@@VA3JPX so what we're you showing in your video? We're you on a remote or the host computer? When u turned up the volume was it skype passing the audio? Did u configure the sound card on the host computer first? If you shutdown the hrd on the host how would skype pass the audio? This is what is confusing me. Thx!
I know HRD set the right frequency but about mode I don't understand haw is the procedure. Today I have to set manually SBB mode LSB,USB and FM in case of FM satellite interface. Is available an automatic setting mode using HRD?
I appreciate your video. I may have to try this as I bought mine off of an Online Swap Meet. It was working great then went dead a couple of months later. A local HAM electronics repairman Chis "The Bobcat man" found a bad solder job & fixed, but now everything was reset to factory, so I'm guessing that the former owner may have made the Deviation ajustment? The mic is so old that I may even try to open the mic opening a bit. Thanks!
@@VA3JPX AWESOME. I have extra time and the resources to do that. If just 1% of the scanner hobbyists set that up in their communities, I think it would re-vitalize the hobby a bit.
I remember being on the 60 where the 215 intersects. Heard a bunch of people going off. Lil man in the sierras at 26 and a quarter and I'm readin this mail C'mon.
@@KB2CWN I don't use any rig control for my FT-991A (my main rig now). But I use WSJT-X for FT8 and other digi modes. It has rig control... for it's purpose. When I made this video, I was using a FT-847 and a FT-950.
I know your post is quite old but since no one else bothered to answer your question. Yes you can use this radio on 2 meters 70 centimeters 6 meters and parts of 10 meters
Little update how to update "My Station" I was not able to do it as you showed; perhaps that changed during version updates. I needed to go from the HRD Logbook screen, Tools, Configure, My Station. I put in the grid square and that was not enough, you MUST press the down arrow if using the grid square, otherwise, the default qth will remain West of Africa at 0 deg. 0 Lat. I've come a LONG way but have a long way to go. Thanks for the video, it helped a lot. Cheers.
