Let's see if the free gift get punished or loved lol. I noticed your dice tray full of dice are those all the dice you got with this subscription already or your own collection lol Yep the Blue Dice sent to Dice purgatory 😂
Thank you for adding this!! I have the base game, but found the expansion videos online. Do you know if I could play the expansions without the new cards? As in, play the base game but with the expansion videos? If that makes sense..... lol
So I've had a quick scan, technically it's possible but most of the cards won't make sense. The time cards won't match up with the video for instance, and some of the other cards will be off, such as in the second video players can earn the Dirtbag title, and the Chosen One title wouldn't be in play. You could probably adapt it and just play as it is with a different video for variety, but its not really the same experience
Mops brow and grips the table edge.... You actually liking blue dice lol not chucking them to one side in disgust 😂 they have a very lovecraftian look about them reminds me of the dice in Arkham Horror board game.
😂😂😂 it's never the colour that's the problem, it's the amount I get!! I think it's the look I like, and in the back of my mind I'm just thinking about those similar green ones that I've got coming up.... :)
Apart from the gifts (and I guess the adventure), do you think that it's worth buying this magazine if you already have the 5E core books? Does it also have material from the already published supplements?
So as I don't have the core books I can't directly answer that. But I can say everything so far looks like it could be covered in the core books.I think the Genesai stated it came from a source book, and there have been a couple of other parts where more source books have been mentioned.(The original trial issue said that an optional rule from a different book was used on a character, I can't remember now, and the Bard has access to a spell that needs a rule from a different source book to use, I researched that for the error video.but can't remember again off the top.of my head. I do have a list somewhere of all the sources books mentioned so far. I will say the adventures are probably worth the magazine, and they all have a standard 6 page limit so could be useful thrown into campaigns or just as one shots. But if you're not a fan of dice then thr price might not be worth it
@@franksiegames Right. Interesting... I know that there were some things that were taken straight off of the core books. The chase complication tables on issue #30 came from the DMG. I don't know how much more (that has been published so far) came from those books. But if there's stuff from supplements plus an adventure, plus some dice, then that might make those worth the cover price.
It would be pretty cool if they did! If you look at the Marvel version there were some villains who didn't (or hadn't at the time) feature on the screen. So it's definitely possible. Although I feel like it was easier for Marvel with how based in the Comics everything is, whereas the majority of Star Wars viewed by the masses will be the movies, and possibly animated series
It was fairly pricey but ended up being a gift basically so just means no more gifts for a while haha. But I think it ended up being around 25ish posted from Europe, then around an extra 60ish to get cleared from customs
Hey friend! its me again 😅 I am trying to translate the cards to spanish and I have a doubt with the horde of Gyarados.. the AI says "The dragon anchor blows them all the way to the starting point, Masala town" what do you think it means "the dragon anchor blows them.." could it be "the group of gyarados sent you all the way back to pallet town"? or perhaps "the dragon rage sents you all the way back to pallent town"? It says "them" .. could it mean that the card blows away all the players back to pallet town or just the player who draws this team rocket card event? Thanks!
PD: Did you by chance corroborated what is the maximum clip plus 1 that you can attach to a pokemon chip? By watching the image in the rules I think is 12 but not sure.
PD 2: About passing onto other players the team rocket piece... Please confirm if I understood it well or if you understand it in other way.. If you chase another player and you pass by them he receives the team rocket. If you pass by two players you give team rocket to the first you pass by... But if you land in a space and another player is there is that player who receives team rocket even if you passed by another players along the way. Thanks!
Haha well good luck with the translations! The card is the group of Gyarados' Dragon Rage sends the current player back to the starting town. It's very similar to the end of the SS Anne episode in the TV series
You're welcome! I realise there were multiple parts to your comment! Yea 12 is the maximum number of clips that will fit on one chip if you put them all on and push them together. With the team rocket the summary of rules for me are basically the first player thay you move past or land on takes Team Rocket from you, unless you've moved with the Fly card. And if you pass on Team Rocket then you move back 6 spaces. However, it leaves a bit of ambiguity there so I'll leave you to play it as you feel works :)
I remember this game lol. Was going to grab a copy back in the day and Chaos in the Old World but for some reason never did 😂. I'm kicking myself more for not getting Chaos in the Old World - soooo expensive now as its discontinued
Yea I never got into Chaos in the Old World so no chance of that now, especially the expansion. But I picked up all the bits for this and Space Hulk DA from a local shop years ago before the prices went crazy aha
@@franksiegames haha just got a message saying it will be delivered tomorrow now lol and I think I'm 2 or 3 orders behind as I have not got the dice prison yet I hope it's the order coming tomorrow.
As far as I know it should be mostly backwards compatible, so I reckon they'll probably finish all the rules they want then bad the later issues with changes to update it
Yea, fairly useful DM wise without adding too many new rules to learn. The dice are a nice shade but they need more than just that these days to save them from the rest haha
Hey friend! Are you planning in doing a gameplay playing the game with the expansion? Just to see how all flows. Do you think you could scan the instructions (even if they are in japanese) to the BGG page? I really hope so. Thanks a lot! 🙏🏽
Hello there, I do have some videos planned for the future but I am always behind in my schedule from work and life aha. I've got an actual Japanese copy which I can mix the set in with, although I may just homemake cards to fit in with the English version rather than teach my friends Japanese! With the instructions I'm fairly sure BGG has rules against posting game instructions without the creators permissions, and unfortunately I'm not sure I'd be able to get those any time soon!
For anybody who went here for the same problem as me: the foil pack who's contents are entirely unlisted anywhere online consists as follows: Foil variants of: Apparition Apotheosis Demon Form Corruption Whirlwind Shrug it Off X2 Wraith Form Adrenaline Catalyst Blade Dance X2 Echo Form Electrodynamics Defragment Storm DEFAULT Claw X2. Deva Form Omega Blasphemy Tantrum Cut Through Fate X2 1 DEFAULT Golden Ticket for every character. 1 UNLOCKABLE Golden Ticket for every character. And unlisted anywhere is the custom cards, so you can make Thorton and Peel No Pain yourself. Consisting of: 2 custom common attacks 2 custom common skills 1 custom uncommon attack 1 custom uncommon skill 1 custom uncommon power 1 custom rare attack 1 custom rare skill 1 rare power Your choice if you wanna use the claw pack variants, but the shiny ones are the default. And yes if you didnt notice, they are mechanically different. Bonus list of: 8 Copies of the Red Cube Claw Pack variant Claw :) Hopefully this helps you like it would have for me to know which cards I Just lost in the decks.
The magazine seen to be a great way to introduce and gradually build up skills and concepts in D&D - although sometimes in a different order to what would be normally needed to know - good for children reduces information overload.
Oh yea for sure, I know some people who collect it for their children and that seems to be the best way, the DM and character creation sections might be some good parts even for people who have played before. I think it helps too that they're always using the online Beyond system, so they won't walk you step by step through every bit your character needs and instead they can focus on the roleplaying aspect of it
Nice unboxing. :) How many skills cards do you have in your Malingerers character pack? There is supposed to be 10, but I have 11 plus the single Moralistic weakness card.
I have the same as you do. The 11th Skill card not listed on the character sheets being Pugilist, and also the Moralistic weakness card. I had a quick scan over all the other cards and couldn't see any mention of these two, nor have I seen anything on the KS page. I might have to do a little digging
This is exactly the kind of video I was looking for, plain and simple unboxing, showing everything really close to the camera. Thank you! I am very excited to get my copy
I've just got mine and played a couple days already! But I've been wondering... Wasn't there supposed to be 2 foil relics in the Kickstarter rewards? Couldn't find in mine, and then I watched your video and it's the same thing. 🤔
Originally there were, they had to change them though, I think they couldn't get the backs to match (which makes sense considering all the other foil cards are foiled both sides). They swapped them out for two different one. I've just gone back through to check, update 49, they added Blasphemy and Defragment. It's a shame as I would've loved a foil Snecko Eye, but at the same time I don't have sleeves for my relics so I imagine I'd ruin it fast!
Yup me 27-30 arrived Saturday. I like the dice, although again I wish that theyd use white numbering to make it stand out (those tin dice particularly)
Yea the dice cage looks good can't wait I got the edditio. With the silver coin s so I think they still come at certain points I'm a sucker for a collectable lol@@franksiegames
@benntame-nunchaku345 ah yea I forgot about the promo coins you're getting! So yes at least you still have some more free gifts to look forward too, just think about all those shiny silver D2s you're slowly collecting 🤣
How does act IV work? Could you do a video on it? I don’t see a fourth board unless they just tell you what to do in the instructions (rest, merchant, elite, heart)
Act IV has to be unlocked, by completing a minimum of 13 acts with the same character. There's no board for it, the Act IV map is on the back of the boss card. I haven't unlocked it yet through actual playtime, but I'm sure once I've reached it there'll be a video
How can I verify that I have all the cards? My box only came with one copy "streamline" and not two like other rare cards, and I cant find where to find the list of cards included
I have not yet done a card list for the game, but I do known once you open all the unlocks you should have 85 cards for The Defect. So if you count them all and only get 84 then you might be missing one. Or else it's designed to only have one copy of that card
There are alot! But I can see why it would look odd when you have multiples of every other card except that. Sometimes they just do it by design I guess hah
There should be 2 of each common card and 1 of each uncommon and rare card. If you have duplicates of a rare card that might be from the foil pack. Also notice that some cards need to be unlocked first and some of those have foil counterparts too (check for a small lock icon in the bottom right corner of the card). Foil cards are meant to replace normal cards, not add to them. They are just a fancy bonus for Kickstarter backers. What you could also do is to check the upgrade reference booklet. That should have every character specific card in there as well as the colorless cards (except that commons exist twice as mentioned).
The sleeving is the best part. Or the worst part.... haha. The shards are for if you use other characters cards, for having orbs or changing stance. If I'm thinking of the right card
I got my base copy directly from their Web store, however it's the first edition print and as far as I know there was only the one print run before the second edition with the different art etc. Checking the kickstarter I think the only difference was a Golden Garibaldi special card, although I haven't actually seen one anywhere
I get he may not have been able to complete the project if hiring a professional artist, but after reading the cards, I'm wondering is some of the text also AI generated. It just doesn't sound right.
There are some odd parts yea, lots of descriptive words used for every object in a sentence, and some places where the it refers to multiple people as himself, I'm not certain but I did originally put it down to maybe translation errors or English not as a first language, as it shipped from Europe. Although the odd section is actually the Man-At-Arms part (although that's not in the video) but it refers to the cards, which there aren't any so almost sounds like the rules were copied from elsewhere, but they don't match the rules present in Wizards Of Morcar so I'm unsure on that part
It'd very true. I mean originally they thought a ghost was suitable so it must have been roughly in the right level of Challenge Rating. Perhaps it's something that can be used if running the encounter with an experienced group of players haha
@@franksiegames that was my thought. As the Ghosts attacks and self defence withering Hand made me think that sounds cool lol. But Like you pointed out op for lower levels
@Mark-nh2hs yeah, since looking at this one I've been thinking of trying to run the original encounters with different groups and seeing if they fare any differently or not (although I'm definitely picturing a TPK 😂😂)
Another fantastic comparison! Huge thanks for doing all the legwork for us on these. This is something I was very curious about but would not have been able to gather the trail issues together for a review. 👍
And thanks again for sending the issue over! It's been enjoyable searching through the magazines and seeing just how much I can dig into! Just one more left to complete the series now 👍
I had some of my cardboard tokens scratched, one of which is an encounter token, which makes it a little more difficult to play. I emailed support about it though so hopefully they'll get back to me
That is unfortunate! I have seen some zones are practically finished shipping and are getting around to sending out the replacement parts, hopefully that won't take too long for you!
Oh yes, I think I looked a little bit to find that one 😂😂 I saw a sneak peak in the next one and it looks very much a battle map is part of the thickness, I've got another issue to look at first before I get to it though!
My game just arrived today! (It was retail tho). I'm really hyped to play a couple of solos before putting it on the table for a all afternoon match with 4p hahaha
Oh very nice very nice! I haven't had the time to get the game rules down yet to play, but I like the thought of it running as coop! At least it's not like some other crowdfunded games and there's no real expansions or gameplay content missing from the retail version! (AFAIK)
Did you figure out what the Claw Die was for? It was listed in the Kickstarter, but I wasn't sure if it goes with the Claw pack or if it was a replacement for the regular die.
It's just a fancy replacement for the regular one! I was unsure and thought it may have been part of the mechanic but the claws collect red cubes for damage output, do it's unrelated to the cards. Just looks special aha
Anything claw related means you should always use it. If you see a claw, you buy it. If you are offered a claw as a card choice, you take it. If you have the choice between a regular dice or a claw dice, you take the claw dice. The claw is the law
