This, sadly, was the last appearance of Paul Young with the group as he passed away the following July. Mike was lucky to have found such great vocalists in the two Pauls.
I love Phil’s acoustic version as much as his drum version. What a versatile song. You get a different vibe depending on how he’s playing it. What a monster talent. We’ll never see that kind of talent ever again. Glad I was alive to grow up with him.
I remember watching this on the telly as a kid in 1986, my memory was triggered by that incredible, stunning snippet of Red Rain at the end. Never copped the coiffed quiff til now !!!
this is a seriously obscure question, but can anyone tell me what released version of the lamb (the original LP, the 1994 remaster, etc.) has Steve’s guitar highest in the mix? I don’t like the 2007 remix (multiple botched segues), but would love to hear a version of this album’s original mix where I don’t have to strain to hear the guitar parts.
Ich bin wirklich schon seit den 80igern dabei. Immer wieder diese fantastische Musik. All i need is a Miracle that bring Paul Young back. Please. What a fantastic Person and Singer.

I got to see Phil on this tour in NJ on 6/25/94. The stage was set up like the roof of an urban hotel. On the right side of the stage was a vertical neon sign that spelled out H-O-T-E-L. Across the upper rear of the stage was an elevated subway train that went back and forth and there were roof vents emitting some smoke scattered all over the stage. It was incredibly realistic. Phil ended the show by entering a shack on the roof and reaching out from behind a semi-closed door to pull on a chain that shut off all of the lights on the stage. The 24 song show with two songs for the encore was impressive. One of the best concerts I've ever seen.
At 42:11, Peter was basically saying "Excuse me I'm not the man I used to be. Someone else crept in again I wanna be alone". "I Know What I Like", So it's a knock out, with the "Sledgehammer", "Big time" and "Lead a Normal Life".
It's utterly ridiculous that Genesis never played a Superbowl halftime show. Maybe they were asked at one point and declined. This video shows that they were basically in 1992, where most of the acts that perform stadium shows are post-2015 in multimedia presentation, sound-quality, acoustic control and certainly material. Such a criminally underappreciated and unheralded band.
I have all of Genesis CDs-even hard to find ones. Archive 2 is one of the very best. Phil is right about Hearts on Fire and On the Shoreline. Excellent songs that should have been on We Can’t Dance instead of a few they put on. I LOVE all the 12 inch versions of their hits on here better than the original releases, especially I Can’t Dance and Tonight Tonight Tonight. Fantastic long versions. It’s interesting how they can change arrangements on songs and have so many versions. This collection is rare and expensive but worth every penny. The song, sound and production quality is just off the charts. While I prefer the live versions of Mama, it’s really interesting to hear the work in progress version of Mama. This band was so good in writing and performing that we will never see such good music again. Buy this if you can find it.
So so much talent in this band. Their tightness in this live performance is a pleasure to listen to and watch. Jamie Moses is such a gifted and low key guitar player. Can watch this show over and over!
Thus is a fabulous performance of "How Long" It has been and still is my all time favorite song. I'm now 69 in 2024.❤❤😊. Paul Carrack is a musical genius and Jamie Moses nailed that guitar solo
