If you have stumbled upon this channel then you are probably wondering what it is all about. My name is Nick and I love drums and turntablism. I also like to create sounds through any means possible. I sometime go by the DJ name BEATNiX and I also play in a band called Cyril Snear, so naturally you should expect references to both of these throughout my channel. Stay tuned for more bangin' techno, hard progressive metal and hopefully some drum covers and tutorials. Watch the space and remember to subscribe. Thanks x

I know this is an old post but I do hope you can answer this question. When bringing the image over to PS do you do anything at all in camera raw? When I import the photo it opens in camera raw first. I'm still having a hard time stretching the data because my sliders all all the way over to the edge clipping the blacks already. Any advise?
I would have to see your image in its raw state before processing. It might be that there is already too much noise which would make processing astro images very difficult.
@@beatnicksbeats thank you! I figured as much. I'm gonna try it again and lower the iso. I was shooting ar 6400 which I thought was to high but was given that advise. I have a d600 and d810. I'm using an f/10 scope. What iso would you recommend? Thanks again.
Wow yeah iso 6400 is high. It's more about the quality of long exposures at lower iso (800), layered on top with darks and flats. Have you stacked your image?
Also f/10 is a bit slow for deep space images (by slow I mean the length of time photons take to hit your sensor in your camera). For planets it's fine but you would need longer exposures for an f/10 compared to a newtonian which are usually around f/5
I am so grateful for this info. I have a 6.3 focal reducer but wasnt using it. My 1st attempt at astrophotography so I had lots of questions and very few answers. Eventually I plan on getting a better scope but we all hv to start somewhere.
Nice video. What form/format was the image in when you began processing it? Did it come from Deep Sky Stacker? I know DSS can Autosave a TIFF file or you can save a FTS file. Can Photoshop open the TIFF from DSS? How about a FTS? Thanks! Isn't there something about not being able to process a 32 bit vs a 16 bit or something like that? Sorry for the questions, I'm a newbie and just trying to learn how to do this.
thank you so much for this video. I was struggling with processing until I watched your video. It was so easy to follow along with you and follow your lead. Really big help. Any plans to make a video for galaxies or star clusters?
man, i was referred to these two videos you posted to help me learn photoshop for my orion nebula, it helped a ton, but im still trying to get the hang of it. i just started out, last night i did the eagle nebula. i tried to do the processing and i must be screwing something up, haha, i took 44 minutes of exposures. would you like to use my image to do a video on processing that nebula?
Absolutely. Are you on Facebook? Add me (Nicholas Mark Roe) and I'll direct message you my email so that you can send the image to me then can go from there.
Sadly I didn't take this. It was a video tutorial for my friend who took the shot but I decided to upload the onto here for anyone who might be struggling with astrophotography processing.
its the end of the year and you can imagine how many djs and companies dropping year mixes here and there this one jumps to the top ten it might very well turn out to be the best in the end .. counting runs on my playlist for the next weeks will tell cheers \o/
oh to clearify i setup a personal playlist for months with songs i like to listen to or sets in this case. sometimes after a months if over and i start over i miss some so i take them along from lets say november playlist to the dezember play list .. i for myself can tell after a while if i listen to one or the other often or less often tahts what i mean by counts on my playlist so at the end of dezember i will know if i listen to your set for example 10 times or 50 times. of course i calculate that per minute so listening to a track of 10 minutes 10 times over is worth 100 minutes of listening to it a mix with 70 minutes running 2 times will be worht 140 minutes of listening so i can put a value on each item in my playlist to better see what i like and what i dont. many many many things just get stepped upon by me clicking "next" "next" after a few seconds which ultimatly makes them dissappear for good :) after i switched 2 times they are actually removed from my playlist to this way i pre sort the music i am listening to. i hope that clarifies what i mean with countings on my playlist.
