My ground cable did the same thing. It was outside, but water wasn't collecting. I believe the water ran down to the bottom of the winch and infiltrated into the cable. Yeah, it looked just like yours, for almost a foot.
I bought one to trim a hedge row. You would think you can just weed-eat it & you can for about a foot, but then it gets into light chainsaw territory. Hedge trimmer just bogs down.
I said tiger bites I did mean Shark And I said pex underground I did mean putting shark bites underground. As I said not a plumber. Have great day thanks for watching
That's "surging". Can be idle mixture. Can be the governor. I don't know why they go out of adjustment. Rabbit hole. Good luck. :) p.s. Probably the idle mixture is not adjustable. I'm talking to you California. :(
Yes something is off, at times it will smooth out and run normal and next time I run it will start surging again. That why my guess was dirt in carburetor. But could be other problems as well.
@@johnagsmith2364 Yeah, rats, symptoms that come and go. The worst kind. Anyhow, That carb is the wrong one. If you take anything apart, take pictures before. Just sayin' . G'luck :)
Great review John! I have the same cub you have but i have not bought one of these sleeve hitches because my back tires are 20" and the warning I have seen say the back tires must be at least 23". Could you tell me what size your back tires are?
Sorry just saw comment, I had look and mine are 20" x 8 not sure why the size matters. Maybe had to do with clearance but I have used mine with no problems. Good luck
Thank you very much for sharing your experience. Hmm, does that mean the starter was manufactured with cheap steel? Our starter failed in the same manner, pinion gear sheared-off its shaft. I am having a difficult time in understanding the great price differences "for the alleged same product" from different stores and and different 3rd party sellers on different online stores. We purchased our Cub Cadet XT1 LT46 in June 2017, but I think it was manufactured in 2016: on Saturday April 13, 2024 I discovered that our tractor would not start. I proceeded to perform a few tasks that were overdue [I think I was grifted by a local Lawn Mower Repair Shop]. Thursday, April 18, 2024 - Connected the Super Start battery and removed the hood, removed the air-filter and sprayed the Engine Starter Fluid and placed the air-filter back into the housing. Loosened the Choke/Throttle cable in attempt to tighten the cable tension, attempted to start the engine and it did not crank, removed and checked the 20-amp fuse that is in the battery cables - it looked good, removed the engine cover with a eight millimeter-(8-mm), attempted to remove the starter with 3/8-in socket and a 7/16-in socket, but learned the bolts require a ten millimeter-(10-mm) socket - borrowed correct socket size from neighbor, removed the starter and confirmed that it was broken because the gear-wheel sheared off from the rest of its housing. Wednesday, April 17, 2024 - Removed the new Champion spark plugs due to learning that must be set at 0.030-in; retrieved the spark plug gauge tools and set both plugs to as close to the specification of 0.030-in as required from the Cub Cadet RU-vid Channel; Re-installed the Champion Spark Plugs, Poured the second one quart-(1-qt.) of SAE-30 oil into the engine dipstick cavity, Reconnected the battery cables and reattached the hood, Attempted to start the Cub Cadet XT1 LT-46 lawn tractor - it failed to start Tuesday, April 16, 2024 - Disconnected the Super Start battery in preparation to test if it is a good battery, retrieved my old Archer-Kit Volt-Ohm Multi-meter to test the battery - it tested good. Searched RU-vid and the internet for probable causes as to why the lawn tractor won't start and found a dozen reasons, Inventoried our Cub Cadet replacements parts and fluids; we need two-(2) quarts of SAE-30 engine oil and two-(2) spark plugs, Drained the engine oil and it was very dark; removed the spark plugs and IMHO learned that they need to be replaced with new spark plugs; Installed two-(2) new Champion Spark Plugs - later I learned that I may have torque them too tight and the spark plug gap needs to measure 0.030”, Installed one-(1) new air-filter, Installed one-(1) new oil-filter, poured one quart-(1qt.) of engine oil [need to add the second quart of engine oil tomorrow] Saturday, April 13, 2024 - Discovered that the lawn tractor would not start
Well I did what U did. I sanded everywhere U said & 1 worked, but only if I didn't tighten it down. As some as I tightened the top it would go out. The smaller cheap led light flashlight still didn't work no matter what I tried. I think they r the $1.00 or maybe $3.00 led flashlights. so how can I tighten down the top & keep the light on?? It only works if the top is loose. it is a bit bigger than the other one not working, but still cheap. led flashlight.. Do U know why it works when the top is loose, but not when it is tightened down as it was made to do? I know, I know it is a cheap ass led flashlight, but I just like to fix things & put them back into circulation. Any ideas what else I might do to get the 1 that is working to let me tighten down the end so it doesn't fall off?? Thanks for this video too.
That hitch you put on your tractor is a sleeve hitch, not a 3 point. That box scrape is a scrape, not a plow. The one thing you are correct about is the new Cub Cadets are made by many troubles daily, MTD for short. They have been worth anything for tractor work since International sold out.
Good info. side note. my Dad was an aircraft mechanic. I believe he said, back then that the civilian aircraft he worked on were 24v. When he was young he witnessed a coworker melt his watch on his wrist by 'tangling' with 24v cables / tools. That was the last day my Dad ever wore a ring, watch, neckless, anything while working on aircraft.
Thanks this is very helpful. I just took a dremel wire wheel to those threads. I noticed my switch was flickering while I pressed it, so I sprayed the exposed contact end with some electrical contact spray cleaner and cycled it on off several times while it was drying. It is shining strongly again.
i was getting high voltage codes and stalling/rough idle (1997 Cherokee). i checked for vacuum leaks and inspected all the wiring pretty closely. I replaced a few simple things that made no difference. After i refreshed the grounds as described in this video, zero problems and the check engine light disappeared on the first drive.
