Not sure this would be quite so hilarious without Dave Allen's comedy timing and acting. Every movement and facial expression from him is comedy gold.

I remember them! I saw one of them in Safeways once. Well... I thought I did, but when I went up to him for an autograph he turned out to be an accountant called Bob. I've still got Bob's autograph somewhere.

When I think of Dave Allen sketches this one is the first I think of in the same way as The Two Ronnie's and The Fork Handles Sketch. What I remember most about this sketch when I first saw it YEARS ago was that somehow I didn't notice that the café was full untill the end. Plus except for the waitress taking the order, no dialogue so congratulations to the writer of this clean joke sketch.🤣🤣🤣

I remember watching these shows with my dad when I was a kid, when you this kind of humour, modern humour today, just doesn't seem funny, the younger generations just don't get it!

..... it could have ended with the cafe owner saying "it only took one £10 note under my own car wheel to bring in all these customers !!!!!"

I recall how I laughed the first time I saw this sketch in the mid 1980's. My favorite sketch is of the two Irish funeral processions racing to the cemetery. 2nd is Dave Allen as the Pope being carried on his throne up and down the stairs.

I remember those brown tenners, they were worth a fortune.
