Thanks very much for the feedback. I can't remember now if I actually coded them or not in the end. From memory I think I got away with not coding them at all (although don't quote me on that haha).
hey. I have the same one. I wanted to disassemble it to put back in its box when the summer ended. I CANNOT PULL OFF THE BLADE and it makes me mad! Shouldn't that thing just come off just as it went on? Am I am doing something wrong? It seems like the grooves wont let it slide backwards not even with a lot of force....can you check yours please? Thanks man!
Hi I actually did take mine apart to clean it and the blade came off but took a bit of prying. Make sure the little bar (the one that goes through the shaft) isn't imbedded into the plastic a little from twist forces and line it up with the Grove on the blade. Then it should come off.
Thank you for the video mate. I m going to replace a broken windows at the same side and it was really helpful. One idea: I think you could use the mechanism itself to help seat down, pushing the glass to the top of the window. Just an idea. I will post the video on my channel as well. Thank you very much again.
11:49 is that clip OEM? Mine never had one. 12:51 The grease there is only needed if you don't take that back cover off. Which is how I assume the previous person changed it. The new filter can be squeezed in, it's really tight, but with a bit of grease on the end it clears the lip. Also worth doing the cabin filters at the same time just because you have to remove them anyways to get to the airfilter.
Bro can I ask you a question your video has helped me a lot see when I clipped ball joint into new white piece I can still see the ball joint slighty do you still see yours thank
I think I can slightly see it a little but so long as it doesn't pull out easily and the wipers function normally, then you will likely have nothing to worry about.
Yes. As far as i know, you won't be able to remove the disk with the hanbrake on (as the brake shoes will be expanded outwards and pressing against the inside of the top hat part of the disk). Well this is certainly the case on my car.
Does your suspension drop when you leave the car for a couple of days. I have been fixing mine also. My compressor was knackered because of a leak which causes it to constantly run making it overheat. I have found one leak on the tank and I am just about to replace my rear strut top O rings as they are leaking too. Good luck with your claim. Brad
@bumbleshufflesdiy5908 if yours doesn't drop but it's detecting a leak, it must be before the suspension struts. Have you checked all the lines for knicks
@@brad146 funny a few years back when I was installing my running boards I noticed that the middle bracket could easily interfere with the air lines and as a result I cut the bracket short and added some tape around the bolts to make sure it cudnt reach and that there were no sharp edges. All is still good with that on mine but yes I agree that if a person installed running boards and didn't notice the proximity of the air lines to the middle bracket, there could easily be an issue down the road.
hi mate, great vid, im doing this soon, may ia ask when you take the fuel feed pipes off the injectors was there any fuel leakage at all or pressure when you unscrew these?
It's been a while since I did this job but I don't think there was any pressure or fuel leakage worth talking about (though I wudnt smoke while doing it)!!
Great video and much appreciated. I bought one of these last night. All has gone well apart from the front brakes. When I attached them back after installing the front wheel they seem to be very tight and not releasing fully when the brake is not being used
Thanks very much for the positive feedback. I think you can adjust the front brakes via a nut just above the pads (I.e. loosen nut and allow more wire to slide through so the brakes are open a bit more). Hope you get sorted.
So click down on right side and up on the left.. just goes to show the MOT testers are scammers, he failed me on handbrake but barely can do 7 clicks up
I can actually remember now but through trial and error you will identify which direction is loosen and which is tighten. Sometimes though the shoes inside / disc just need to be replaced if the whole thing is worn out. Pain in the backside this style of parking brake.
I had a lot of issues with that car but I don't ever remember burning oil smells in the cabin. Maybe a leak somewhere and the engine heat burning it off, then the heating system bringing the smell into the cabin?
Just watched the oil and filter change, on BMW 320i. Well done, good to see excellent engineering practice of cleaning and oil O ring seals and screw threads before re assembly. And not overtightening too! And running engine after to check for any oil leaks.
Hi, I'm not sure if I was supposed to or not but I did not use any grease during this build and I am still using the bicycle regularly for 25k + cycles with no issues.
Jeepers maybe it is supposed to have grease applied. No grease came with it so I didn't even know it was supposed to have any grease. Though it's been working grand for two summers lots of use no issue, so maybe it's not super critical !!
Great video. I've just cleaned my faulty unit... I soaked it for 24hrs in a combination of WD-40, bleach, washing up liquid and water, and then used a small wire brush (size of a toothbrush). When I replaced it at first it didn't work, but I realised that I had done the screws that hold the motor to the unit way too tight. Those two metal inserts that the screws go into were a nightmare for me but after loosening them slightly it worked fine. I didn't bother using grease to lubricant the internals tho.... Also (because I skipped some of your video) I'm not sure if you noticed that there's a rubber O ring that goes on the spindle that protrudes through the window which the windscreen wiper attaches to. That little rubber o ring is what 'should' stop the water seeping into the unit but it doesn't. One problem I have now is that my cleaned unit is far too powerful... when the water squirts out it travels about 6-8 feet! I have to make sure there's no motorcyclists or other cars around when I want to clear my rear window because it could put out 🔥 it's so powerful! Thanks for the video it helped me to put it all back together really easily! Oh, in order to get the trim off my boot, I used one of those 'scrapers' that people use to clear ice from their cars. Because it's slightly curved at the end it worked a treat!!
Great job glad you got sorted and that you've now got a powerhose!! Thanks very much for the positive feedback. Update after time to let us all know if your fix is long lasting.
Hell yeah much easier. Actually the cheap regulators are ok in my opinion. I have had them not quite fit 100% in the past but they work fine and when the car is getting on a bit, that's good enough for me.
@bumbleshufflesdiy5908 I specialise more in MK1 TT's but your video definitely comes in handy to give me an idea what to expect. Only got the Q7 last month and only replaced a speed sensor and dpf sensor so far lol
@33gall haha may be a few more replacements ahead in that case (great car tho all the same). Some other repairs I've done on Q7 are also on the chanel, including air suspension / compressor etc which was a huge saving doing as DIY.
I DONE OIL CHANGE ON MY N43 HALF HOUR LATTER HAD A FUCKING ROD KNOCK NO ITS FUCKED SHOULD LEFT IT ALONE WAS MINT BEFORE HAND N43 ENGINE AS NIGHTMEARS AND BMW NEW THAT FROM THE START
Oh no that's terrible news. I was always afraid of the engine on mine giving up (timing chain guides / oil pressure etc) and that's partly why I got rid of it as I viewed it as a ticking time bomb. What's your next move with yours?
Hi Paul. Thank you very much for your comment. Yes we agree there is no risk of stripping the sump plug this means. We used castrol oil selector (or the cars manual) to identify the fill capacity and also pay attention to how much oil we extracted.
Thanks very much for watching my video everyone (and my apologies for the audio - I will try to improve in future videos). If you liked the video please consider subscribing to help me build the chanel. Thank you very much.
