Hey, what was your set up? I love the video. T I’m heading there tomorrow possibly for a trip. I would love to know your exact location this video. Thank you.
How do you get down on the floodway? i been to lockport dam before i seen the floodway and seen people down there but i cant figure out how to get down there lol
That would be sweet to catch walleye from the shore! This is my first ever season of ice fishing, and I'm looking forward to doing some open water fishing for the first time in the spring. Do you have any ideas of locations around Winnipeg that are good in the spring? I live pretty close to the Assiniboine River. Happy to target all kinds of fish.
I'm from Alberta here, but shore fish some big lakes, much like Lk Winnipeg with good success. The first thing I look for is long stretches of accessible shoreline, rocky shores are best but sand can also work. Early I look for proximity to spawning areas, later its proximity to cold water. When I look down a couple km of rocky shoreline, I just know that there are some good fish within casting distance, I just need to fan cast/ wade through enough water and I'll find them. Biggest thing is to cover lots of water, as you find spots that produce most consistently try to figure out what makes them special, then find other spots with the same features. The more wins you rack up, the better you get at finding new spots.
I've fished slackwater river ice checking ever 1-2ft. River ice thickness isn't always consistent & can change fast. I like your tip for walking back & forth along your tracks.
Wow you guys really killed it. Looks like an amazing day. I was planning on targeting bass through the ice as well this season but this warm weather is killing me I’m hoping for some colder weather in the next weeks finally get some more lakes to ice over
If you look back on my channel two videos ago I made a video explaining just what you want. Please be sure to check it out. You could learn a lot. Thanks in advance.
