They are perfect for me, Phenom is known for making some of the most ergonomic and comfortable gear on the market. I'm about to upload a review on the Phenom SHG-252 soon
Awesome review I recently bought my son his first pair of winning gloves and I was wondering if they were legit because the punching surface leather was so much thinner than the palm side but I guess they are legit thank you for the review
Was about to place an order but saw the microfiber version and phenom says it only weighs 16oz, do you think the weight reduction would be worth it? The two sell at the same price
If weights an issue yes. Mine weighs about 23 ounces. Synthetic is also much easier to clean because it isn't an animal skin so you can use cleaning chemicals on it. But it's a personal preference thing. Leather also breaks in and stretches to your body/head better than synthetic. So keep that in mind as well Btw that's Also great question
Hey man. I could use your opinion, I’m debating between getting a pair of custom premium flys 16oz or a pair of Winnings 16oz. If you had to prefer one over the other, which would you choose? Have the premium flys surpassed Winning? And which between the two do you think was more worth it long term? Thanks again dude 👍🏼
On any given day I may one over the other. They are both equally great gloves in different ways. But if your first pair I would probably go with Winning. But if you choose Fly it wouldn't be a mistake either
Along term they both will last you 3 to 4 years and way longer if you take care of them by letting them air out after training but leaving them in your gym bag, Using leather honey cleaner and conditioner wiping the sweat of off them
@@wingoreviewsboxingandmma3667 I heard the Flys don’t have much crack on the bag, does that make them unsatisfying to use, and in this case does that make Winning more enjoyable to use overall?
You trained these guys well coach. they are throwing those kicks like professionals with such limited space. I hope you are doing well coach. Haven't seen any new shorts or videos from you in a minute.
I Just checked their website and they don't have any left. Boxupnation.com may have some. If there is no size chart you could message him or call him and ask. I have the s/m that are 14.5 inches tall at shins but I also have the original and now they sell the 2.0 which is a different model. Hopefully they bring this version back
I didn't know you owned a pair of the Onx gloves also Coach. I first saw a video of Andrew Tate the 4x world champion K1 kickboxer wear those during spar sessions. I didn't realize they were so expensive though. they are 369$ a pair. those prices are up there with the winning and grant gloves.
@@wingoreviewsboxingandmma3667 Thanks for letting me know coach. I was actually saving up to buy a pair of the Onx. I would expect more for gloves that expensive. Did you mold them to your hands? I saw one guy use a hair dryer to make them hot and then wore them for a more customized fit. I'm surprised there aren't any Onx clone gloves out there yet. I bought the winning glove clones called superior boxing. they were only 100$ but are already falling apart on me after a month of daily use with the heavy bag.
Hey Coach, I'm subbed to glory kickboxing champion with the channel name Gabriel Varga. I don't know if you have seen his videos or heard of him. I noticed he also puts his kickboxing gear dispalyed on the walls also. It is a cool decor idea. Did you get the idea from him or it was just something you thought of yourself? I haven't seen any other people do it.
I just thought it looks good in my house to hang my stuff up. I didn't have any inspiration for it. I do watch Gabriel Varga and his channel though, so I know what you're talking about.
I have the 3 headgears. the RDX with a face cover, sanabul with cheek guards and a revgear face saver. I think I saw you do a review on the same one I have a while back. they are all okay. I heard that winning makes the best headgear. 600$ for some headgear is out of my budget though. maybe in the next life...
Go with the Phenom check protector or face saver. They are both just as good but a just a little different. As you'll see in future video or my old video comparing the 2. But phenom made a couple small changes so I'm gonna shoot and upload an updated comparison of the 2 soon
nice review coach! I have the combat international sports mma sparring gloves. I considered the CC and the Sanabul puffy mma gloves but they were more expensive. Iv'e seen UFC fighters use the CC gloves in training though. Not sure if they actually use them while training or only when the camera is rolling to get paid by the company.
Wow coach I can tell you have a deep passion for kickboxing and Muay Thai. I'm actually embarrassed to admit I have never cleaned my 7 pairs of boxing gloves. The majority of them are dark colors so scuffs aren't noticeable at all. however I do have 2 white pairs of gloves and on the knuckles they do have lots of dark scuffs from hitting the heavy bag. I didn't really see it as a big deal but now you make me want to clean them. I saw a bundle of those two honey solution+conditioner on amazon for 32$. I'm about to order it and clean all 7 of my boxing gloves with it. Thanks for making this video Coach! You're the best!
I was looking at getting a pair of these or the RDX, Venum elite, Twins special or Top King boxing gloves. I saw these are the best beginner Muay Thai gloves. I already own 7 pairs of boxing gloves but saw there was a difference in Muay Thai vs boxing gloves.
Yes the are small differences between a muay thai glove and a boxing glove but you can either glove for both sports. I prefer boxing gloves even for kickboxing and Muay Thai. However these are not Muay Thai gloves. These are actually MMA Hybrid Sparring gloves.
Nice brother. You have quite the collection of gear. I am a boxer going into Muay Thai. Decided I wanted to learn something new. subbed to your channel brotha. keep the vids coming please!
thanks for the review! Great video! Can you suggest something to help the winning fg-2900 to stop slipping when i get hit? I sweat a lot, and it makes the headguard move around. It's fine during the earlier rounds
I grab the back of my choking hand. The most important part is understanding to bring your elbow to your ribs instead of flairing it out. I'm not really using my hands to squeeze so much as I am squeezing with my elbow to my ribs Thanks for watching and showing your support.
Both of these are extremely light and compact and slender. If that's what's your looking for either or will work. If you want leather go wth twins if you want something without an extra shin pad bar because of grappling than go with Primo
I believe Hayabusa translates to Peregrine/ Peregrine Falcon. So haha your spot on, as the Peregrine Falcon is the Fastest predator on the planet. They dive boom other birds or prey at like 200 miles or more an hour. they are insanely fast.
after watching your other review on the T3 and TKB and this one - and also after breaking in the T3 LX in small, I like the aesthetics of them(in crimson) but do find them at bit odd still. Especially for the price. Like you can get two great pairs of shin guards for about the same price as the LX variants . Or a pair of shins and gloves. They DO exactly as advertised though which I do have to note. I wanted to see how anti slip they are as sweat a lot and my Fairtex ones would slip a bit. I had the SP7 in red, w/ detachable foot guard. Lost them. Bought these. After sparring, I adjusted them about twice. The way the foot guard conforms to your instep and around the foot in general makes me feel like they are seriously not going any where. My main critique is the form and shape of it- aside from the obvious fact that they are designed like the way they are for a reason, I would still like to see them have a bit more form to them. Some solidity. Its not bad that they are like a very impact resistant material. But the lack of any sense of rigidity to the shin guards is unsettling. Crazy thing is they still get the intended purposes done right. The silhouette can be refined some more to drape better around the shin with out all the extra flap. Oh and maybe even add some protection to the ankle and boom. super shins guards
That's a really good take on it. The raised part on the side of the knee is the weird part for me. It protects the knee but it kind of sticks out. Which of your sparring mma can catch on your opponent while grappling
Yeah I noticed that too. So I just installed an LED light in my Dojo a week ago. The lighting is way Better now. I shot the review of the Isami mma sparring gloves with the new light. Check it out and let me know what you think
Thank you so much for this review!! I have been using Fairtex’s SP8 I believe the model with the detachable foot guard and left them at my gym and think some guy with the same ones took them accidentally think they were his. I loved those shin guards and had them for around 7 years. So I decided to take it as an opportunity to try out another brand, one iv been wanting to try for years but because of the price, never did. So when these came last night, I was actually very disappointed initially. I ordered the T3 LX crimson in small and was like “ There flat?! Why are they flat?! Why are they so soft and lacking of any forum of solidity?” I tried them on the heavy bag to break them in but it’s not the same. Was about to actually return them until watching your review and specifically this one comparing Top King with Hayabusa. Those top kings are fucking sick btw. You restored my confidence to at least try them out sparring with an open mind.
I like sleek compact shin guards and only need enough padding to take the sharpness off my kicks when sparring but I'm not worried about feeling some of the contact from checking kicks or having my kicks checked. As far as them being flat goes, just pull the velcro straps until they wrap around your shin and they won't be flat anymore, at least not while you're wearing them.
