Excellent interview! Its nice to hear the writing process for the new album compared to the older ones. Awesome to hear theyre excited for this new album and that there was a different energy.
Outgrown Things got me into the band. So glad i got to see them in Philly a few years back...so good live. Just wish theyd keep some screaming in future songs like Outgrown Things had but still a fan of their newer stuff
Such a great interview, thank you! Pat is such an articulate and compassionate guy, love hearing his thought process behind some of the songs and perceptions of the band
It is two separate scenarios he's referring to. I believe what he means is that for some couples or women who have an unwanted pregnancy, an abortion seems like the obvious and straightforward choice as the focus is on the practicality and outcome of it (not having a baby). When his fiancée fell pregnant, they very much wanted the baby and they couldn't have had imagined having an abortion. If you're looking forward to having a baby rather than not wanting to have it, and then losing it due to miscarriage is the painful experience he seems to be describing. I hope that makes sense to you 🙂 Thanks for watching!
i’m currently the nineteen year old really resonating with the song lol love that song way more than i can express. to me a lot of the songs meaning is chasing your dreams no matter what the people around you think and it’s definitely giving me a lot to think as im currently growing up and making decisions that matter now. ahhhh i love movements hope i can hear that song live one day but they’re such a good band and ruckus is such a good album that i just care about seeing them live once in my life
Thanks for taking the time to comment, that's awesome you're growing up with a band such as Movements as an influence!! Our musical education really shapes our lives in so many ways x
Congratulations movements on the growth over the past few years! And congratulations Patrick on your happiness! My husband and I signed marriages papers on Sep 13th, same day we watched yall live for the first time. Thank you for that night!! We sang every song possible. Couldn’t get enough, we will be seeing yall again in April! Hope your foot is doing better! 🎉
"I don't think about the songs while I'm performing" "I won't play certain songs anymore because I don't want the feeling they bring back into my life" Huh
Hmm I'm thinking he's more referring to the energy of the song and how he doesn't see the point in putting that out into the world again, not the feelings associated with it as it seems he's worked through them :)
I just realized the slideshow pictures are from the recent Hamburg show. Didn‘t expected the concert to be that good, what a lovely night it was! So was this Interview filmed right before?
Hey yep that's the one! We had a little bit of a tech hiccup there where we lost picture, hence the pictures! Here's all photos from the Hamburg date 🙂www.messedmag.com/2023/11/21/movements-photo-gallery-by-sophie-dobschall/
Great interviewer. However I met pat after a show in 2022 and he was really rude. Idk when but somewhere along the road he developed this pretentiousness and a clear distain for the original fan base and the emo scene. Everyone is allowed to change and grow but cases like this are just really disappointing.
Not sure if it was a tweet or what it was but as soon as pat said something along the lines of “oh everyone liked us better when I wanted to kill myself writing depressing songs and now that I’m happy everyone’s complaining” I kinda knew some shit was up it kinda annoyed me a bit. Aside from that when I met him he was def the most docile and like awkward almost stern of the bunch. All the other guys kinda welcomed everyone I mean everyone super wholesomely and like with genuine appreciation of the fan base. I wouldn’t say pat was rude but you can kinda tell that whole thing he’s going for as far as being more mainstream reaching a “wider” audience is showing more and more. I’ll always support movements but I feel you.
Hey thanks so much for watching! I'm sorry to hear you were disappointed with the encounter. Who knows what was going on that day, I guess we're all driven by emotions and external factors that could result in us not acting our best x
I remember watching "Protection" music video back when Dreambound was going by their original name, still can't believe how long ago that was. Still love the band. I would listen to anything this band releases.
I love ATC and I love being a fan. I’ve been to the show in Cologne this november and last year in Stuttgart. I can 100% agree with Chrissy when it comes to the fans. It’s just a whole vibe, when everyone gathers in the venue or even just when everyone’s waiting outside I feel like I completely belong to the crowd, as if these people are all just like me. This band creates such a sense of belonging and familiarity through their authentic personalities and their interviews. This one was great too! Loved the questions <3
nice interview! and chrissy is right the support for the acts is insane but there are to be honest just amazing support acts and especially Lolo and CallMeAmour were frickin awesome. Much luv from Gerrmany<3
Great interview and thank you for the WORLD EXCLUSIVES :P! we appreciate it, thats true! Dan inspiring us all to be our own health and wellness kings and queens!
Great interview, really interesting questions and fantastic guests. I love how Chrissy pours her chaotic and genuine personality into every answer. Yes to more pyro at ATC shows please
I've been following Movements for several years now but I'm not really the type of person to be interested in bands members life, but musics and meaning only. I didn't know Patrick was Straight Edge and it's a nice surprise. And at the same time it doesn't surprise me. People, consciously or not, convey their values, waves and messages through their arts. ✨
Incredible video just saw movements in September in Columbus Ohio it was a great show! Patrick is incredible including his thought process! So happy he's engaged! Ruckus has become my favorite album! Your one us now! And tightrope are my favorites! This was a great interview thank you so much!! Enjoy your platform very much!!
