HD has wasted hundreds of millions of dollars on this electric fiasco. Same with Ford Motor company (they have wasted billions on electric). By the way, Jim Farley is CEO of Ford and is on the HD board of directors.
Bought a 2023 H-D Road Glide 3… MSRP 32k cost me 42k after the dealership told me they would treat me like family. That is not how I treat my family members. Outlaw H-D
They ran your credit while you were test riding so they can shop you around several finance companies. They get at least 3 different interest rates and hit you with the highest first and work from there. At one point in my life I worked at a Toyota dealer and we used the same system you showed. All car and bike dealers are as crooked as the day is long and they get away with it because they are members of the Automotive Dealers Association and they have a huge lobby buying off our politicians.
Harley has been screwing its customers for decades. Poorly designed, poorly built, over priced, and building bikes that haven’t really been updated since the 1960’s.
I worked at a Bultaco dealer after school, 1974-1977. I remember asking the owner how can you charge $1500 for this bike! He looked at me and said.... pretty soon, you will be paying $5000 for an open class bike! How has time changed!
Harley Dealers have a history of over pricing their bikes. I’ve been riding motorcycles since 1969 and Harley has never been on my list of gotta have bikes. HD has been making the same bike since the 1950’s. Detail changes but the designs are the same. You couldn’t give me a Harley.
I agree fully with the argument made in this video. Dealers around here act like they don't want to sell a bike. The price is outrageous. Built in the USA, yes. But not worth what they cost new.
Joken Zeitz MUST BE REMOVED! He is a woke infected virus that is killing the host, Harley Davidson. If you are any one of these: hard working, white, American, Christian, male, old school Harley guy, Harley Davidson hates you. Plain and simple. You are the problem. However, they are more than happy to take your money to fund their agenda to undermine you, your buddies, your kids, your job, your community and your beloved motorcycle. I am a lifelong Harley person but I am done with it. Joken does not care one bit about the history or the future of HD. He's not American and has no connection to it. It's just a big paycheck to him. He is destroying it. When you lose a Harley fanboy like me, YOU ARE IN DEEP TROUBLE! Harley! If anyone is listening, clean house and get rid of the entirety of management. I know it's a big ask, but it's gotta be done. This woke nonsense has to be purged from the company. Stop the politics. Focus on making and selling good American made motorcycles that working stiffs can afford and be proud of for what they are and what they represent. If you aren't down with the WOKE agenda, do not buy anything Harley Davidson. They despise you. They resent everything you are and stand for. Sad but true. I'm not selling my bike or setting it on fire but I sure as hell am not going to buy anything from them. LittleO
Im 69, still riding since 1977. owned five Harleys, current ride a 1997 Wide Glide. Harley lost it's future in 2006 when everything went south. Harley should have remained as a Classic, FIVE BIKE STYLES ONLY company, produce ONLY Classic Bikes. The new shit looks like shit, is shit costs too many shits, and has fkng plastic covers, all for what ??? $30,000. My first 1977 Superglide was $4,000 OTD, leather & helmet too
I hear this often about Harley, but the other big name cruiser manufacturer (Indian) is guilty and needs to be called out too. About two years ago I really wanted to buy a new bike, and I really wanted a cruiser. I looked at HD and Indian, but both were basically the same price and they both had the ridiculous hidden fees and horrible/predatory financing options and salesmen. The problem is that as long as Harley continues to dominate the market share, and no one stands up to them about their horrible behavior (in a real way, such a lawsuits as you mentioned) then they have no reason to introduce cheaper models, alter pricing strategy or control their dealers. And as long as they keep it up so will Indian, as Indian seems to be trying to follow in their footsteps and market themselves to be the equivalent of HD (and they might be when it comes to quality of bike, but they definitely aren't when it comes to sales or pop culture icon/status).
American companies have lost their business sense. Kodak is still in business but they are not the giant film manufacturer they use to be. And all Harley has to do is innovate. Which takes a visionary leader that Harley couldn't recognize if he stood in front of them.
My experience with Indian was pretty good they weren’t pressuring me or anything and were super nice and relaxed I ended up buying their last 2023 scout bobber they had and i was able to talk him down a little on the price I got a 14 thousand doller bike for eleven and I payed half up front and there service department is strait on point over thier they take great care of the bike and work as fast as they can they got a whole stage one done in a hour I have nothing but respect for them keep in mind this was the El Paso dealership I can’t say much for the others my dads experience with Harley was the opposite keep in mind they gave him a sporty with a bad alternator so he got stranded on the highway then tried to make him pay for it afterwords he had clutch cable problems they couldn’t fix and they gave him the run around he ended up fixing it himself granted he told me it was worth it and that he would never part with his sporty but after he saw my experience with Indian he said he’s done with Harley after that dealership experience he’ll never part with his sporty but said he would never get another Harley and wants to get a Indian scout 101 soon which I hope he does you get a great bike for a decent cost
I went twice, with a few guys, as part of a longer tour. We only spent maybe 2 days in the tourist traps of sturgis and deadwood. Saw the sights, saw all the trampy women parading about. Saw the elephant, as is said. I was much more interested in the scenery, especially as we got over into Montana. I prefer solitude and quiet over crowds and noise, and I really don’t like riding among people I don’t know. Too many who don’t know how to ride, or have unsafe look-at-me bikes
Customer service sucks at Harley dealerships . Prices are horrendous! The gasoline alley red deer Alberta wanted to charge me 6600 for vance and hines pipes . I am getting them done at my local bike guy for 3300 at half the cost and I bet done better also and in a timely manner .
Got the Mk1 in black. Absolutely love it. Nothing on the 2023 I would want to change for. Call me old school but I can change gear without a gadget 😂. Small tank a slight nuisance but for the overall experience, who cares.
Recently tried to buy a 2024 Road Glide. Apparently Harley decided that their customer’s we’re getting tired of that heel shifter coming as standard equipment. They would much rather buy it at the parts counter after purchasing the bike. The dealer told me he would through it in for free, if it would get the deal done. It was a cash deal. I sat down to get the paperwork taken care of and write the check. Looking over the paperwork I discovered that they had added an hours labor to install the heel shifter. I didn’t say a word, just put my checkbook back in my pocket and walked out. Harley can indeed F**K OFF!
Yes, it is the new (and old) business model they have been following. They are headed off the cliff as a company and they can take their hand-picked Mega dealers with them. The Mom and Pops are cool, there just isn't enough of them anymore.
The classics which made the company are out of production so if HD folds nothing of value is lost. It's easy to keep anything Knucklehead or newer on the road at modest cost and HD closing would get rid of the posers and non-mechanics. The golden age of motorcycling was when riding demanded much more of riders and filtered the less dedicated. The aftermarket provides and there are more than enough Harleys to last another century without a single new one being sold.
Orlando dealers, the bell is not ringing like it use to. High turn over in the sales teams, marginal service and over stocked on product. No wonder Harley has gone woke. I was in one of the dealerships the other day. Sales people making phone calls, and you just see the dismal look on their faces. They definitely need to take a hard look at how they deal with the customer. There will always be people buying and selling. There’s other avenues for finding bikes
I’ve recently purchased three 2023 BMW R 18’s (two 100 Year and one Bagger). The performance and quality of the R 18 puts Harley to shame. I also own a Ducati xDiavel and a BMW R 1250 GS Adventure. Thank goodness for Indian Motorcycle!!! Without Indian, American motorcycle culture would be an embarrassment compared to BMW and Ducati, not to mention MV Agusta and KTM.
Wahhh it's too noisy in the city. Wahhh he's having more fun than me. Wahh he's looking more free than me. Wahh wahh. Utah liberals are lame. Even with aftermarket exhaust those bikes are cleaner than any cars or trucks. Enjoy the power plants for your electric cars. Real men mine my oil, children mine your cobalt and lithium. Stupid assholes
Never understood the amf hate. They saved the brand from certain doom and gave the name a chance where many may not have. As for quality control issues, i think it was a common theme for most manufacturers for that era and i dont think amf was worse by any means compared to other companies. As far as im concerned, AMF designed the evo engine, made a new and bettter manufacturing facility and made the company profitable again. Wasn’t poorly managed as much as it was poorly conceived by the public, hostile to change.
why is the title still making lithium batteries look like the problem and not harley davidson? this is not being brand loyal, this is being a brands bitch.
Harley ‘s only claim to fame is they make the most noise with the least amount of horsepower! They’re junk! My Hayabusa makes 175 hp and gets 50 mpg. I bought it used for 4700$ .
This is his dad. Are you saying that a 16 year old doesn't have stuff to deal with? If anything, adults should be better equipped to handle their issues given that they should have gained more wisdom and experience over the years but that is often not the case. Your comment shows a strange lack of awareness.
