Saying Drake is the reason that Kendrick is blowing up is like saying Jordan is the reason that Allen Iverson blew up. People knew of Allen Iverson. But when he crossed over Jordan he got a lot of notoriety and many more people knew about it. But it did not negate the talent that He had. More people just saw him. With Kendrick and Drake, you get the same thing. Drake is one of the best, statistically, to do it within the genre. He's went up against Pusha T, who many people still don't listen to. He's been up against P. Diddy, that didn't create much of a buzz. The reason there's so much of a buzz around Kendrick and Drake is because Kendrick is actually a very talented artist. And many people that didn't know are seeing it. Because if we want to use the same logic, saying that Drake is the reason that Kendrick is blowing up, you would have to use that same logic with Pusha T. But Pusha T didn't start doing better after his back and forth with Drake. P Diddy didn't gain even more notoriety after his back and forth with Drake. But people that didn't notice Kendrick are noticing Kendrick. It doesn't discredit his talent. It actually shows that people haven't noticed it and now we're seeing it. And as far as the numbers go, if he was only doing well because of Drake, people wouldn't be consistently listening to him. People would simply look into it because it has to do with Drake and then step away from it because they don't care about it anymore. But because he's talented people are listening to it and listening to it again and again and again. And this is not me saying this because I'm a huge Kendrick fan or a huge Drake fan. This is me saying objective facts.
