Interresting, but not the best way to learn CW. It is a language of sounds. Just like a foreign language. At some 25 to 30 words per minute you can't convert a visual picture into a letter to produce a word. After some 50+ years of operating CW, words have sounds, and you will recognize that sound or patterns. No you will not recognize the word "lawn mower" because this is not a word that is used in a general CW conversation The word "test" during a CW contest has a sound and you will know that this operator is operating a contest.
I wish you’d come out with a dual band (VHF/UHF) combination Analog / P25 Phase 1 / DMR radio… Judging from what I’ve heard from our consortium members, I would guess you’d sell them in the tens of thousands of units.

Great radios love the HD1. However,. Pro tip; be sure to download a factory codeplug when you buy your radio. I was not able to initialize (factory reset) after I had programmed zones and channels. I had to reloadload factory codeplug before I could make any selection when booting for initialization (green key+red key and power on). With my programming it would boot in initialization, but I could not make selection. Non GPS FW version 2.2.9. Hope this helps other folks in look of factory reset. Excites to see what the HD2 offers😊
I apparently disconnected from my computer while trying to update and the HD1 and it will not turn on, no matter what I do. The method you showed doesn't work. How do I reset so that I can turn the radio back on?

Using CH/MR lets you choose whether to display the names or the frequencies of repeaters etc. But how do you delete entries from the radio that are NOT in any zones etc.
