My crusty ‘72 C10 454 has a 3310 Holley vacuum secondary that is a half second quicker than the 7.99 on your window. +0.030” flat tops, 702 oval port closed chambers with 0.038” quench and 9.7 compression, tiny 221/235 @0.050” 0.575” lift 109 LSA Clay Smith HR spec’ed by Straub. RPM Airgap intake, HEI @40* total timing, 3.73 posi and MT ET Streets for traction. 4500 lbs with me in it. Quarter mile is 11.80 and can put a beating on these new supercharged trucks that cost $120k 😂😂😂. Yours is choppy af, mine idles smooth at 700 rpm, sleeper, till that throttle cracks open. Nice ride and have fun spanking these modern day muscle cars....
It has plenty more in it, it was only 1.8# 60’ because transmission was steadily taking a sh!t and converter was way too tight. I just picked up a rev manual t400 I had built and a much looser converter. Should run low 7s with those… if I can find time to install.
@@01fxdlse I believe it had a friend used to hit rockinham drag strip in NC with obs truck longbed running 454 gen 6 carb swapped stock internals and shaved heads. 4l80e full manual backyard shit lol. Quarter mile no spray at all high 11s with weight stripped off and dialing traction in. Mind you he probably weighs 150lbs.
Of course had other mods cam springs etc but never did pistons rods till he sprayed it too much one day blew it and finally chose a forged scat rotating assembly. And China heads
Old pushrod motors in those are unkillable. 4l60 behind it probably hates you, but they can be built tough as nails too. I always feel better after a good smoke myself! Badass burnout brudda! -ford guy
