This channel is dedicated to my son, Sam Castle, and his passion for running. Sam (6’4”, 165lbs), class of ‘27, is running mid distance for South Dakota State University #GoJacks🐰 He’s proud to be staying close to home in SD and be competing at the next level.
Mostly this channel is meant to document his journey so someday he can look back on this time of his life with fond memories. It’s also selfishly a passion project for me 😀 He’s worked very hard and overcome adversity to get to where he is at. It’s been a joy watching him grow and mature.
Big Hoss is my affectionate nickname for him. Fast Llama is just something fun. We both find them pretty funny 😆
I do. He dunked all over Leo Young at NON and did what he did basically without a peer at his comp level. Those Newbury boys trained together for years.
These videos are worthless unless we know some times. Did the winner run faster than Steve Ovett or Sebastian Coe. I'm being sarcastic, we don't know anything until we see some times!
Thanks for the feedback. Simeon Birnbaum won in a time of 1:51.03. Holy smokes🔥 Sam had some space to close up and he did it quickly! I read your description of the race in yesterday’s post. You described it perfectly! What a smart tactical run! My heart was racing more for that Brookings kid sensing Sam right on his heels after the first 200 until he made his move to pass him. Wonder if that got in his (Brooking’s) head at all. Wow!! Yay OG💙🏃♂️🏃♂️🏃♂️🏃♂️💙
Ha! Fortunately for all states. Simeon Birnbaum who won this race won the Brooks mile in 3:59.51 (2nd 16yr old, 3rd Junior to ever break the 4 min barrier). Aaron Sahlman was in that race.
@@FastLlamaCas, I was both the number 1 quarter miler on the track team in HS, as well as the captain of the XC team, but the times these kids are running these days just boggle my mind.
@@johnwest7993 Agreed! There’s a lot of debate as to why. I recently heard someone call it the golden age of high school distance running. SD saw new state records from the 400 to the 3200m broken on both the boys and girls side. It was fun to watch.
