A little info on the W903L2 name; it’s abbreviated from W903L2 Aerocab, which is how it’s presented in the bill of materials/build sheet. W903L2 itself means it’s a W900L with a B3 cab, which is the cab that mates to the Aerocab sleepers. Not sure what the “2” designates but for W9s, it was added circa 1992 (W900B & L became B2 & L2). This designation applies to all W9Ls with Aerocab sleepers, so it’s pretty common. All that said, this model is not widely known about because there is a big discrepancy between what KW plants say the truck is and what the build sheet actually says.
Thank you for the memories! Grew up in one. Straight8 speed eaton long legs on her though. Dads had the twins on his. Made it to quiet. But still a rocket ship!👌🏽
That’s 15.8 liters that 3406 E is actually a C16 .Cat. They are awesome . I have one in my 2000 379 Peterbilt and put the marine cam in it to the tune of 800HP pulling a bull wagon.
Love the sound of a kacklin kitty, the jake makes it perfect. I truly miss it ,been retired 5 years after 49 years of pounding the big road.stay safe out there drivers……..sandman
@@0007Robert thanks Robb, I’m getting the 2004 t800 dump truck.. straight piped with the resonator 3406e 2ws so I’ve been watching your vids like crazy.
@@0007Robert every place ive worked has had nothing but gutless ass engines. my buddy got me a KW C500 with a 6nz. im rebuilding it right now just to get it on the road but this winter im doing an out of frame with a 15.2L acert crank with an IPD big boar kit bringing it up to about 17L with a stage 4 switch blade turbo its going to be pushing some serious power.
Asking questions is never a reason to get roasted. It's my Pyrometer, basically helps me track of my exhaust gas temperature while I'm driving as you don't want it to get too hot or you can cause big problems
Oh ok. I was wondering why it was going up and down. Is there a number that the temp should not go over. Im kinda new with cats and im trying to learn.
@@jacobpatterson7363 my general rule is I don't like it over 900 but I have it mounted on the exhaust pipe behind the turbo. If you have it in the manifold then roughly 1200. I don't mind over 900 on a pull but I won't keep it there long
Lol. I love all the guys who say oh your over Revving it in every cat video where a guy goes over 1500 rpm. My mechanical 3406c that’s turned up hates being below 1400 on a pull. Lug it to 1000 loaded and the fuckin thing has a your killing me vibration and pyro sky rockets just like his.... mine rocks and rolls 1400-1700 ish. After 1800 my turbo falls flat. Empty I skip gears and usually go from 1000-1400 rpm. As you can see and hear his motor is just singing in that range he keeps it. 👍 and yes. Mine is turned up properly keyboard warriors.
Got a 2ws E motor in mine with 4.11 rears its about 1650 at 70 mph and it loves it. Itll pull until 1250 then i gotta drop a gear but 1500 rpm shifts dont always work like everyone says.
I'd still be a Cat lover unless it's an old 2 stroke Detroit lol that's the only thing I'd ever want over my Cat personally. And even that would just be for a fun toy
