You failed to mention that the 987 has four catalysts and one is in your demonstration OEM muffler. Removing any of the four is not in emissions compliance and at least a Smog Check failure in California.
While it may not pass California Visual inspection, if using our HJS catted headers, you will pass emissions testing as they meet or exceed EPA compliance standards.
Which resonator delete is on this Car? Also, do the sport cats make the car any raspier? I already have a Corsa double helix x pipe and I really don’t want it raspier
Lol, the stock sounds of more engine tone which is nice, considering it's a 3.2 liter etc. Same one as in my 02, 3.2, 6 speed Boxster S. Had the "Supercup" Exhaust and decided I didn't like to tones.... not a problem with volume just the tones. Then I exchanged for the "Maxflo" Exhaust combined with catless headers, Evolve CAI, IPD Plenum/TB etc. and it sounds absolutely vicious in the most pleasant way! 😊
Mine doesn't sound like that stock lol, but idk if the Flying Spur is quieter from the factory than the coupe. I like the improvement for sure. Not too much overpowering sound.
Looks like a great set up and a great video demonstration. What these people commenting below are missing is the sound is subjective, but also you want all the OPF filters and extra gubbins removed from the car. You’ll pick up more mid range, better throttle response and just a sharper feeling car. The sound is a by product that only curb crawlers care about. No car should be fitted with OPF. Shameful! Personally I think the mod sounds at least as good is not better. But more importantly you get all the other benefits. Porsche would never design such a compromised system if they weren’t forced to by EU bureaucrats.
Be honest why haven't you gone the X51 powerkit? why would Porsche go all the way to work the head+cams to get to these gains if can just do with bolt ons, if it would be this easy, genuine question, whats the downsides.......... ?
Wow, so this is the stock header, stock center muffler (no x-pipe) and the side muffler bypass, correct? Sounds a bit like the classic 911 cars. I love it! I wonder how it would sound with the Fabspeed sport headers (with cat).
Correct! Side muffler bypass pipes and our competition air intake! Upgrading the Headers is an excellent choice. Youll see a ton of HP/TQ gains from swapping out those restrictive OEM cats and modernizing them with our HJS-equipped set.
