STAGECOACH: 💎 quality clips by the way, quite a number I don't think I've seen before. 😇The ultimate beauty and pure diesel beasts of the MAN ALX300s are irreplaceable, however the MANviro 200s and 300s are the best we could possibly get in terms of the last remaining Enviro Diesels. The MANviro 300s do sound strange when upgraded Euro VI though. The GNE and Arriva equivalents would be: Scania Solars, VDL Commanders & Pulsar 2s and Volvo B10BLE ALX300s/Wright Renowns. GNE: Why are they withdrawing the Volvo B8RLE Wright Urbans? Any idea what is replacing them? Oh crivvens - not more Street💩s? GNE already have a massive hoard of 'em! ARRIVA: It's devastating but understandable why MAN EcoCity's have gone to scrap, the ever increasing gas prices would have left Arriva NE no other alternative. Don't know about you but I'm convinced that Arriva are pulling out of the NE even further? METRO/RAIL REPLACEMENT: The more operators that are available to do it - the better? 😉
I'll give you a shout-out in a future video and see if we can get your subscriber count up 🙂. Sadly I don't get a lot of views or subscribers for my work, and it can be challenging being a content creator.
Just hope that none of the decisions to withdraw certain route brands this year doesn't end up backfiring on them, provided they are able to fill or enable a replacement for any areas left without a single bus allocated to it.
Feel really upset about Ethan. Don't know if not wanting him subscribed is what caused the problem, but he never enjoyed my content anyway. We actually got on well.
@@klhtransportvideos Tricky one for certain but now after what has happened, you may soon have a decision to make on what your next step is. Time is the only healer. How do you feel now? Are you confident enough to accept what has happened, recover from it as soon as I can before, moving forward with filming transport videos with the same level of enthusiasm and enjoyment as before? Only you now the answers to those questions.
@NK53HXX Unfortunately, I don't think there are any plans to do anything with Cobalt&Coast in the near future. I expect the 307/309 will either go into fleet livery or a shared livery with Arriva's 306/308 at some point. Maybe fleet livery with common branding for the 306/308 and 307/309. Sad to see East Gateshead Loop gone. We've lost QuayCity, Orbit and Loop this year, with QuayCity becoming Quaycity VOLTRA, Orbit buses changing into North Tyne Rockets and Loop buses getting repainted into Sunderland Connect and wrapped in Elite Training Academy.
@@klhtransportvideos if GNE were to do a shared livery, arriva wouldn’t do any of theirs in it, the workers at Blyth can’t even fit a cab fan correctly lol
Nice video, just to mention, boxing day had some nice allocations, Tyne Valley 10 on the X22, Xlines Spec on 43/X18/X22 & 307, Party Bus on X21 and for the normal GNE routes, standard allocation for most, apart from X1 having a East Durham Explorer to start with then getting replaced with Sunderland Connect G2's and the RKR 47 being East Gateshead Riders. Started the day with 6361 on the 09:57 X18 to Newcastle from Morpeth as the 08:57 was cancelled, and finishing on the 19:45 X11 to Blyth which was 6310, filmed that leaving blyth to head back to depot, got a flash of lights and horn. Nice to see more GNE in Northumberland as well as Stagecoach entering Blyth for the day.
I got a Tyne Valley 10 on the 1, missed the X22 one as I ran to board it (and missed it) and headed back home before it came back. Saw the various X-lines on the 43/X10/X11/X18/X22/307. Crusader 307 as well. Party Bus on the X21 was good and I got East Durham Explorer 5394 and Cityrider 6099 on the X1 which I'm happy about (5394 Not in Service at Gateshead off the X1). Got a couple of EG Riders on the Red Kite Ranger 47 as well. A good selection of different allocations.
🙏🏻 😢 2013-2023 R.I.P MAN 18.270 EcoCity! What a devastating loss but understandable and sort of expected due to rising Gas prices. The bright yellow training livery will certainly stand out furthermore, it adds more colour to the North East public transport variety! Travelsure are seemingly shutting down because they are short of drivers, they have even started to list the entire fleet for sale with dates of what is available now and when.
I-Squared should have some serious investment ready to be put into Arriva which enables them to launch a fresh recruitment drive for staff, make any life expired fleet available to preservationists before being marked for disposal, ordering new fleet then finally, fight to regain lost routes when the time comes. Just read about Travelsure...there's a number of operators who could probably take the routes being axed on but, we'll have to wait and see who actually wants them.
Stagecoach West Scotland have got a large number of EVs mostly based at Kilmarnock with a small number also based at Ayr. Have yet to catch a ride on any of them and if there was the choice, I would prefer the Volvo 9900s or BZLs compared to ADLs equivalent. The only gas buses in Scotland are with First Aberdeen who have 7 "70 Reg Plate Wright StreetDecks, running on a choice of either Hydrogen or Electrics. Shame about the gas buses being withdrawn in high numbers although I can understand the reasons why. The Scania K270UB Enviro 300s at Wheatsheaf look pure minted with that "spoiler" on the roof furthermore, I'm very impressed with Arriva NE's MAN 18.270 EcoCitys in appearance and performance too.
Me too, Cam. Surprised to see them going. Put this video together just to summarise the changing bus scene with more electric buses coming while gas and hybrid buses are getting withdrawn.
North Road bus stops where temporary, but the ones right down by the former gates shopping centre (adjacent to Cex / Poundland now) with digital displays where always there.
North Shields new Transport Hub is beautiful! Sad to see Arriva's MAN Ecocity's and Stagey's Scania K270UB Enviro 300 CNGs be withdrawn, to me they look and sound far better compared to ADLs standard Enviro 200s/300s and Streetlites. What did you think of them though?
I'm not sure North Shields needed a bus station and it's particularly disappointing Arriva doesn't serve it and the Coaster only serves it one way. Very sad to see the MAN EcoCitys go, they are something different and I've only seen them once, the intended last day in service on 2nd September when a lot of them did get withdrawn from service. Sad to see the Scania K270UBs going as well, standardised fleets are boring for enthusiasts! Definitely better than Enviro200s/300s and StreetLites. E200 MMCs are decent. Thanks for the comment.
Really feel for all those affected and despite encouragement to use the bus and save money on fuel and stop using the car however, the cuts and cancellations are in reality having the opposite affect.
Thanks! Have you had chance to find out about putting a requested display up? I've seen the 792 without 792 on it before and it would only be on a non-stop section.
@@klhtransportvideos sorry bud but the boss said no as its on a nexus service and if they catch me with a different display on we could lose the service
I'm looking forward to Go North East's North Tyne Rockets launching next month and I'll be making a video. Hopefully I'll get them all done immediately and plenty of videos will follow.
Thought just 217 would get repainted because it was blue and cream, I wasn't expecting the others to get the new livery. So the whole fleet will go two tone grey?
Unfortunately I don't often see A-line buses (keep looking for them Not in Service but rarely see them). Be nice to get a few displays on them at some point, like at the depot or something. I'd like to go on the 792.
Stagecoach own Walkergate depot outright don't they? Sounds like Arriva's having financial issues or there's a potential proposal to withdraw from the NE further? NEXUS should have backup plans ready to go in case the worst happens nevertheless, the fairest way of moving forward would be to either split the services 50/50 between GNE and Stagecoach (if doable) or, allocate the services to whichever operator has the nearest depot(s) to the 51-55 route running area.
Apparently Stagecoach are getting the 54 full time, Cam. They will run it commercially on Monday - Saturday day times and under contract evenings/Sundays as now.
@@klhtransportvideos don't have any suggestions but since this video, Go North East has registered some new routes, those being the 352 (Newcastle to Cramlington), 353 (Cramlington to North Shields), 354 (Newcastle to North Shields) & the 355 (Newcastle to Forest Hall)
I like 1499. Not sure if Arriva plan to repaint it with new electric buses coming for the 47 at some point. Although I'm surprised Arriva haven't given up the contract for the 47, it would be a better fit into Stagecoach's network, funded by the NHS Trust.
@@klhtransportvideos If arriva walkergate is leaving depots Which ceased on September by Stagecoach then arriva walkergate will move to depots in blyth which means expansion land likely If 1499 bus will rebrand it journey mark 47 is NHS hospital service Not sure if arriva 47 contact ends on September Maybe stagecoach will take over 47 service Wait a see
@@klhtransportvideos Yeah, that'll be interesting, like 44, 45 (currently doesn't interwork with the 43 on weekdays). 47 is in a sticky situation considering you've got no other way, unless you send one driver down to do it. 51 seems as it is already with GNE Night they may keep the 51. 52, 53 & 54 to Stagecoach as they interwork with each other and would be great. 55 is again a left out one. Alongside the 553, likely Stagecoach as they've now gotten one early morning run.
I know it’s sad 😢 Arriva Northumbria has moved to Blyth Likely expansion land on September after walkergate depot closed down but not Ashington Good memories of arriva Jesmond and walkergate I remember
