I want to run the permanent_patch.ps1 script and it gives this error: "The term 'permanent_patch.ps1' is not recognized as the name of cmdlet, function, script file or operable program. Check the spelling of the name, or if a path was added, make sure the path is correct and try again." ...do you know how to solve this?
That means PowerShell can't find the script. You either need to execute it with it's full path e.g. C:\some\path\permanent_patch.ps1 or, if you're inside of the folder already like .\permanent_patch.ps1.
I have an Ubuntu syslog server which is in the same domain as my Windows server. From subscriptions windows, when I try to add computers (The Ubuntu Syslog Server) I get this error: The URL is invalid, what could be the problem?
something doesn't make sense here when copying an entire file and folder structure from source to destination. Have you tested out the differences and similarities of all data including metadata ?
im pretty sure that most social media or blogging platforms automatically strip metadata when compressing files, but if you're concerned with that kind of data having the potential to be intercepted, that's valid. Suprised you didn't know your GPS was recorded in your photos, I have a Samsung phone and had to turn it on manually. It's actually super useful to have the GPS tag for personal use in a photo library manager, it gives you another way of searching through your photos.
My properties thing I was erasing photo details in windows stopped working right. Windows 10 was unable to remove properties from the selected file warning. It was a picture I took. My question using your method here let me be able to remove detals and properties. Does it work for videos to.. If u have a video using Exiftool could u link it to me. Thanks im going to try the photo first.
I have a ton of scanned analog photos shot with a single lens camera so I want to add camera, lens and focal length to all of them. There seems to be no batch function to do them all at once, right?
Not sure if this is still an issue for you, but the easy way to have it run on all your images would be to have them all in one folder. and instead of a filename at the end. Just use * or *.png/jpg etc. The asterisk applies to all specified files in a given directory.
Unfortunately still didn't answer my question ... why does Google lead me to this video if the video doesn't answer the question ... I hate this How can I run a powershell script vom the commandline (that was answered) IF (important if) ... IF that powershell script requires an elevated powershell
This is insanely useful! SO many other guides are trying to sell us some kind of a Visual Studio plugin. You should make many more Forms tutorials for Power Shell, as there are tons of parameters. I'd like to see a guide for a "Wizard" - multi-page menu.
I cannot replace [ with powershell. I need to replace [ with space in one of my files for automation. Somehow powershell is unable to replace [ at anycost. Can you please try and confirm
What is a small amount of computers vs a large amount? Are you talking about 100 or 1,000? My lab is about 100 computers, so is that OK for this kind of collection vs source collection?
Excellent. Helped me understand transferring multiple files. I took "PutFiles" literally and tried using "c:\path\*" instead of a loop; they should rename it "PutFile"!
im very surprised with how few comments and likes this has, I just wanted to thank you for making my life a hundred times easier. Feel like I can make a whole UI after just 8 minutes. thanks.
