I play guitar as a hobby and I have created a website to help musicians of all levels to find local players, places for playing, technicians, teachers and more.... www.all4musician.com/musicians/Quaraz
I have one of these. Out of all 15 amps I own, it has a transparency and harmonic complexity to it that I find absolutely seductive. When I play it, I play longer and stay interested longer and enjoy it more....than any other. And that's saying quite a lot because my amp collection has no second rate amps in it. It's ALL good stuff. This one is so sensitive and interactive. Nothing else I've ever played is on its level.
V-type has too much fizz and noise. I own both. My Marshall DSL40CR came with the V-type. It doesn't sound as good as the Vintage 30...especially for the high gain settings. The V-type sounds thin and lacks bottom end. The notes aren't clear because of the fizziness. The Vintage 30 retains clarity and note definition...for searing creamy solos...without noise. The v-type sounds like a Boss Metal Zone being run through a cheap low watt practice amp...like a First Act amp...lol
Thanks for taking the time to go through every effect. Why not make sure the guitar was in tune first? That B string being flat makes it impossible to listen after about 2 minutes!
Very similar sound overdriven or distorited. I cannot say the same clean , the difference in volume in the recording level (not matched between speakers) makes It hard to tell. Human hearing doesn´t respond the same to sounds in different levels (google fletcher munson curves for more details)
Noticed a number of effects in the video that I don’t have in mine. Got mine new December 2022. Weird, guess I should check if there’s an updated version. Are you aware of a “freeze” type effect on it?
Hello, since it is the date, I send you the link of this video of a 5/4 arrangement of the song "Little Santa Claus" : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OluEgCzgeM8.html The electric guitar recording was done with in order : 1- Simble Overdrive Mad Professor 2- Blonde, Tech21 Character series 3- Corona Chorus from TC Electronic 4- DD-7 delay from BOSS All this directly into the sound card! Olivier Soubeyran : cello, bass, recording, mixing and editing Yann Viet : guitars and arrangement Mario Cimenti : percussions Very good Christmas party !
Why do you think Brian May goes into the normal channel even on some of the older models lols , run pedals into the normal channel vox amps Need to be run loud to get the vox tone ,you will never ever get a proper tone at bedroom level ,it’s a gig amp a 5 w valve amp is not a bedroom amp , I don’t get why people buy gig amps to play in a bedroom, get a practice amp trust put any decent player on a practice amp and they will still sound like them , guitar setup and practice then join a band or use software to record at home not a 15w valve up , when your neighbour is out and no one is at home turn up your vox Master cranked channel vol 230 to 3 on the dial now you can hear and feel how these amps sound not true vox but not bad
Honestly that brightness is what makes a Vox a Vox, I’d rather leave it as is. Looks like your pick dynamics have a huge effect on how much brightness can come out of it. Pick a little softer and find some pedals that work a little better with it as is. The Duncan 805 is basically a TS808 with eq knobs. It can easily be fine tuned to sound better with any Vox.
It sounds pretty much the same, it might be because your volume is on low and I think the bright cap on the volume only makes the amp brighter when more than volume at noon.
When they weren't pretty similar the vtype to me sounded much better. Never shrill and bottom end never muddy or farty. I would say it's an update vintage 30 speaker. Celestion isn't going to say that so they been charged the same for each speaker knowing there's king time vintage 30 fans that won't even try a vtype
The best comparison of the Tech 21 character series and the Joyo is here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6ewE4if-lCk.html It's the British pedal from each, and the Tech 21 is the V1 version without the speaker option button. It starts at one minute seventeen, and you can easily jump back and forth between the two different pedals with the same sound going through them. If you like a rawer, thinner sound, then the Joyo is for you. If you prefer a richer sound with stronger mids, the Tech 21 is better. It's a matter of taste.
Your playing sounds much better through the v30. Not sure why. V30 sounds a lot smoother. V type sounds a little more like a VST. Id definitely go the Vintage 30
I use this pedal on a joyo pxl 8 with other 7 pedals. When I activate the loop of the zoom, there's a volume drop in the sound that doesn't exist with the other pedals in the loop. I have to put the level in the effects at maximum to equilibrate the volume. What could be the reason of that? The pedal is new, it could be some failure?
