The music ("Gurney Slade") was composed as the theme tune for a surreal British sitcom called "Gurney Slade", starring Anthony Newley. I've watched it, and it is indeed weird.
Tony Hart - one of the saints in glory. Sometimes you really are so hopelessly grateful - you run out of things to say; all that is left after the blizzard of words is simply "thank you"...
Great. Wasn't there polish animation as well? And lots of avantgarde music. Obviously the gallery. Brill music and we used to sit and critique it. " she's 12? That's shit! Now I'm art critic for the Sunday times. Only joking
I remember this music vividly as well. Thanks to all for letting me know the name of the piece. Out of curiosity, does anyone have any complete episodes of Vision On, like 'Curves'? That one featured a segment where I really likes the music (when someone was driving in a car on roads - live-action). Thanks in advance.
"Vision On was an chilrens art programme for the deaf. It soon gained a wacky and sureal edge. Starred Tony Hart, with Wilf Lunn and Sylvester McCoy" AHEM not forgetting Pat Keysell!
I hate to see how many amazing songs Paul didn't play when he came to Argentina. But well, it's not his fault to have written more than 100 great songs.
@TheTholianWeb I was right behind you here waving both hands at the cam in the official BBC vid on this song. BTW, I have the full concert version of this night too on DVD. No doubt you are on it from the left side keyboards based cam (right in front of you). Also (as I run a small sound editing studio) the full version uninterrupted Anfield 08 on double CD (not BBC edited highlights). In fact also the full 51/2 hour night on mp3 CD. Not free, but well worth it for the mint quality Peace Pete
