Dauchunds are the ABSOLUTE best without hesitation; believe me , Lisa lived for 18 & Heidi for 14 years respectively; you want love/attention/2getherness etc etc - SEJ @ 07.44 hrs., Tues. 28th May, 2024 - Amen (ha!ha!ha).
I purchased a Cavalier King Charles in February from a rescue. He came from a puppy mill as a breeder. He just turned 3. He has turned out to be a perfect loving companion for me. I enjoy his personality and care he shows me. A few things I wasn't ready/use to..sheading and he wasnt trained to walk on a leash. Fortunately, there is a rock area where he does his business right out my door. I need to purchase a harness and really dont know the best for him. He's a bit bony in his chest area..so I wanted a soft material in that area for him. Any suggestions?
My GSD is the best dog I've ever had. Yes, she's a handfull, but when she wants to cuddle and turns her belly up for rubs, I become her slave. She is so loving.
My friend has one Yana. She & the dog are glued when near. Her channel Kalo sona ,is named after another deceased dog. Kalo sona you tube channel features yana-the gsd for 90% of shorts. Yana is a cute gsd.
I was really low going thru a bad divorce I was crying one day and about to give up my beautiful boy came over put his paw on my arm that simple show of love gave me the strength to go on he recently passed away at 19 I miss him so much it hurts ! 😢
our female black shepherd was a rescue, she was a year old when I got her, and had a couple serious health conditions, was successful at putting those into the past, she's now 4 years old now and as happy, loving, smart, and protective as any K9 I've ever had, which included Great Danes, Golden Retriever, Boxers and Chows
We have a female DDR and she weighs 83 pounds. She is very gentle with our grand children, but she is very protective of them. When someone comes to the house she gets between the kids snd them. Comet is a house dog and is very housebroken and does not get on the furniture. Intruder beware, because you will have to deal with her before harming my family. Best dog we have ever owned.
Best breed out there,we have two plus our third died recently,we also have a labrador plus two pugs but shep are so you orientated where as other dog are always after self, pugs are cuddly but hairs everywhere plus eye problems, labs are just food food food
I adopted a shelter kitten that turned out to be a Norwegian Forest Cat. She grew to be very large, over 16 pounds. She was friendly with the outdoor barn cats but seemed lonely when I left her in the house alone while running errands and such so I adopted a young shorthaired shelter cat and they were both very happy. After she passed away at age 13 I adopted a stray kitten for the remaining cat. So if you get a wedgie and are gone most of the day consider getting another cat for a companion.
My German Shepard Sadie. Passed away 12 years ago I still talk to her everyday. Silly I know but she meant that much to me. I have always wanted another one but I feel like I would be portraying her. The loyalty that these dogs show is amazing.
Bro my gsd is 7months old but it was very friendly with everyone who came in my home does it show protective in future or not please tell me brother i am very worried about it?😢😢
I had 3 German shepherd dogs over the last 16 years I feed them the best food money could buy they love tennis balls and a dog run every day they are just beautiful 🦴🐕🦺
I'm considering either a rottweiler or a german shepherd to go along with my lab to keep him company, but it's not just german shepherds who can be funny with children. My lab has had plenty of exposure to people and even kids when out on walks, but the minute he turned 6 months old, he suddenly decided that he no longer likes most people and would rather try and run away, including from kids. I've trained him no differently to my previous dog, the only difference is that my last one was a female and super outgoing.
My last Russian blue died in Feb she was 12 years old . Just got a new Russian blue kitten .. she’s adorable!!! She’s busy climbing up the curtains though .. brought her several toys and cat tree .. playtime goes on forever! Lol😅
I work two jobs, and I'm in school. I think the key is, still make time for them in your day, and give them some doggie friends. That's what I do with my GSD ❤❤❤
My sweet Chloe is very sassy and has a very stubborn side. I must always be the Alpha or she can be very naughty. I love her to death! She makes my life fun and wirth living! 🐕
My Mila (meelah) is a rescue that we absolutely adore her. She is a very sweet cat and I speak to her in French. She knows the language. Combing is a big deal… daily. Special foods without grains. Lots of water. She is a “sink tap drinker.” We leave a tap on very slow drip. She is our joy. She also SPEAKS to you. Enjoy friends. They are such a treasure.
I have a lynx point siamese he is super active loves to open any cupboard nothing barred throws down dishes and anything he can find had to get rid of all my plants and cluttered up one high place with all my vases etc so that there is no room for him to jump up he is super stubborn and will only eat one particular type of kibble can't get him to eat any canned or home cooked food and only drinks water his feeding habit worries me yet he is the sweetest lovable cat when he wants to be and with it all I love him dearly
British shorthairs is one of rare breeds who CAN sit alone for long. Eats and sleeps as usual. Of course it requires to provide food/water/litterbox, but in modern world it is not a big problem. Automatic feeder, waterer from tap, selfcleaning litterbox and all done, the cat happily sleeps all day long. My cat whines when he left alone for couple of weeks and I return hoe at last, but nothing critical happens.
Mine does the first 4, but TG doesn't eat poo. His 5th weird behavior is he'll stare then start making weird noises at me. I call it snoof'n but it's really a kind of like pfffff noise, like a fake sneeze that turns into a growl. he does that when he wants something and wants my attention immediately to get it. it's weird but cute.
I can't put on my socks, or get my wallet without her knowing I'm planning to leave the house. Then I get the " you don't love me if you leave me behind" look. It works.
Question: Does all of this still apply to the senior GSDs? I'm asking because so many are getting surrendered to the city shelter and I'm wondering if a dog 7+ years old still requires this level of training.
It depends on the dog, but same as a puppy can’t handle the same level of training as an adult, a senior dog might not need as much intensity when training.
