I have a customer that want me to do a round table from reclaimed lumber my first question is he wants a metal strap around the table and doesn't want to see any bolts hanging out of it he's wanting a nice clean finish to it. so I'm thinking maybe counter sinking Wood screws in it. What do you think? Okay and my second question is if I do an epoxy top on a round table with reclaimed lumber wouldn't it have a chance of cracking when the wood expands and contracts. She wants the saw marks and the nail holes in it but wants to make it easy to wipe off and eat off of. What would you recommend?
This video is so very helpful. What a great finish!!!! I love the protection that the clear epoxy of your choice provides to the wood, but I don't want the dipped in glass look. I like how you squeegee it over to make it thin then spray satin clear over the top. Do you use a poly based satin? Do you think the epoxy down?
