What's odd about watching these videos is I'm more aware of what machinery can do to human beings--prior to this, I thought "It won't happen to me--I'll never be spun around in circles by a lathe--machinery is good and kind and wants to help us--it doesn't want to hurt anyone." Like my neighbor last night--he had one of his criminal buddies check-out his fucked transmission (he has no idea how to fix but tried, anyway, probably when he was drunk which is 24/7/365 for him). The inmate he called for help got under the vehicle to look with a lit cigarette in his face "I thought: Here we go: About to have another RU-vid video about safety."
This machine is called a warper and it is in a textile plant. Hundreds of small rolls of thread or yarn as we called it are hanging on racks behind this large machine. They are wound onto this large spool or beam as it is called in the industry and provides hundreds of ends that will later be weaved into cloth on a weaving machine. She was cutting off old thread from the last time the spool was used and starting the new ends running onto it. It looks like she left her hand resting on the beam as it was starting to turn and when it was speeding up her hand slipped into a roller that presses against this beam behind it. In the foreground the orange machine is a similar model and it has a safety bar in place in front of it because it has been running. When you are first setting it up the safety bar has to be removed to get the threads started onto the beam. There was a woman at my plant who had a similar accident but it completely degloved the skin on one of her arms from the elbow down to her wrist. She almost bled to death on the floor lying there. Here's a similar machine close up: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JG1Tt_jdmxo.htmlsi=o7Pj9XSdZBMQxx51
Exacly what i thought about first seconds of this video. You mean the horror movie from 1994, right? Im from russia and knew only russian name of that movie, whatched it as a kid. After that, even driving near any factories by car or bus was scary 😅
@pakwan3793 this machine is called a warper. She was removing some previous waste from the beam before starting a new beam of thread that will later be weaved into cloth. It looks like she started the warp turning and it starts slow and gets faster. She left her hand resting on top of the "beam" and it started to pull it back into a secondary roller that probably crushed it. It probably got caught on the thread for a second and that was enough to pull it in. Then she jerked it out really quick. Probably was crushed a little and the threads are sometimes enough, especially if she pulled against it, to slice into the skin. I worked in a department a little ways from here in a textile plant for 26 years. I never ran these machines but they were notoriously dangerous and one woman had an arm completely "degloved". Meaning she lost her skin from her elbow down to her wrist in an accident similar to this but much worse. She almost bled to death. The same type machine of an orange color is stopped in the foreground. You can see a safety bar in front of the beam of thread or "yarn". While running, this provides some protection, as bumping it stops the machine. To get close and begin the rethreading process, this bar was likely removed from her beige warper temporarily. While running, the RPMs on these are incredibly fast! This link shows a similar warper up close: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JG1Tt_jdmxo.htmlsi=o7Pj9XSdZBMQxx51
@@TortureBot thanks for the explanation! Factory and industrial equipment can be seriously dangerous. Even with all safety precautions accidents will still happen. Be safe. I've worked in a car seat factory before and there's so much that can hurt you, and strong machines can easily take your arm off or more.
Я один раз хотела очистить печь где гриль складываться автоматически и чуть не зажарила руку по локоть , хорошо реакция быстрая, рядом коллега побледнел
Are u ooraid now, u was lucky to not lose ur life, that machine is very dangerous. Take safe work np1. I wish u very good christmas and god gift to us plessing jesus
