Welcome to my Botanical Sketchbook channel, this is a place where I share my sketchbook pages and discuss my practice - including the various sketchbook projects that I'm involved with, my subject choices, about art materials and of course the books. Basically, I just want to encourage others who don't know where to begin.
Hi Dianne. The easier way to apply this kind of glue is with a credit card. Just drop a small amount of glue on your cardboard and spread it like butter.
Never knew pencil sharpening was so specialised and exact. Thank you Dianne! I’ve only just discovered your channel and so love it. I wonder if you might demonstrate a little more of your painting process perhaps? Your work is exquisite. ❤️👍
Thank you for this video! I also do my own books, I got tired of buying and then regretting it. It's also fun to design with different covers and sizes. I do use Coptic stitch but don't put more than one folded paper per signature, that is how I got it to lay flat :)
Thanks Dianne ,another great video love the flowers going to try start doing some myself you are inspired me and that 70 I need inspiring believe you me thanks again George in burslem 😂👍
Wow, your sketchbook studies are beautiful and very inspiring me to get sketching! I am sitting at home watching art videos because I am sick today and I am missing my painting class :( But your videos are helping to give me my art fix since I could not go to class today. So glad I found your channel!
Just come across your videos absolutely brilliant. I have also read that you studied at Royal Dalton was that in Stoke thanks for the videos more please ,👍😂yo man in Stoke
Thanks for sharing! These were really pretty and educational. You've inspired me to draw some more of the plants and flowers around me. I live in northern Canada and up here lots of the little pinecone are coming back which is really nice to see. I can't wait for dandelion season when the whole city turns yellow haha.
Thank you for the nice explanation for making this type of sketchbook. I particularly benefited from seeing how you tear the watercolour paper. Now I feel confident to do it!
A burnishing stone! I've never heard of that, but what a good idea. It drives me a little crazy when the paper gets a little rough/fuzzy. Will any palm stone work as long as it's smooth and well polished?
