So glad I found this video , couldn't open cassette finally got it open and realised it had a battery in that had died took it apart and a spring flew I knew it was connected to the red triangle part but couldn't figure out how to orientate it back into position ,now I know but I didn't take the battery out when I had it apart and I shorted it out so happy that you done a full breakdown I think I'll be able to repair it now thanks so much .
Gentile Sig. Giudici, grazie per il suo tutorial. Ho acquistato da poco un adattatore vhs-c, allo scopo di convertire in digitale VHS piuttosto datate, ma in perfette condizioni. Installata la prima vhs e avviato il video registratore, dopo alcuni istanti il PLAY si è bloccato e il video recorder si è spento. Inizialmente ho pensato ad un adattatore difettoso, l'ho sostituito cin un altro, ma si è comportato allo stesso modo. Smontato il coperchio, ho notato che il nastro tende ad uscire. Il video registratore funziona regolarmente, con VHS standard e con un altro adattatore Panasonic. Potrebbe aiutarmi a risolvere il problema? Grazie. Giovanni
Buonasera sig. Giovanni, Il suo modello di adattatore é lo stesso di questo video? Personalmente non mi é mai capitato questo problema. Le scrivo qui di seguito alcune cose che personalmente controllerei, nella speranza che Le possano tornare utili: Il fatto che il nastro tenda ad uscire può essere dovuto al fatto che l'avvolgimento della bobina é più lento dello srotolamento della stessa. 1) controllerei a mano se le due bobine girano allo stesso modo. 2) i supporti meccanici che tengono in tensione il nastro come si presentano? Si muovono correttamente, etc? 3)La velocità di esecuzione del video é corretta? Non é che girando troppo velocemente il nastro si inceppa da qualche parte? 4) ha avuto modo di provare con altre videocassette? Presentano tutte lo stesso problema? 5) le Sue videocassette sono compatibili con l'adattatore 6) ha avuto modo di provare il video registratore con vhs-c senza adattatore? Hello Andrea, thanks for this video, i have a particular problem with this same adapter, when the svhs cassette into the adapter, nothing happens, i tryed put a new stack (pile) and nothing. I think contact of the stack are oxidated and thats why nothing happens. What do you think and how could i clean those contacts ?
Hi Julien, first of all you can try to visually inspect the contact where you place the battery: if they are dirty/oxidated you can try to gently scratch them with a knife (for example). then if ths doesn't solve the problem, you can check the voltage at the motor using a multimeter/tester. To do so you have to open the adapter, insert your battery, and probe the motor terminal, as you can see @8:21 in the video. If you see here the voltage of your battery, then it means the wiring connection is fine: if not, it means you have to solder two wires from the motor terminal to the battery contacts. be careful: you don't have to solder the wires directly on the battery, but on the adapter battery terminal. Lemme know if this solve your issue
@@andreagiudici926 Thanks a lot Andrea for your fast reply and full explanation, contacts of the pile are oxydated, i will try to scrach them with a knife as you explained, do you think i can add a bit of vinagre or w40 to clean them with a Qtip ?
@@juliobarca you can try with a swab/q-tip and vinagre. be sure then to clean it afterwards with something clean (not water of course). Personally i just remove oxidation by scratching, but i think vinagre is fine
This is one of the most thorough and complete repair videos I’ve seen on just about everything. I have to assume this guy repaired and refurbished many of these at one point in his life. His working knowledge of the parts is outstanding. I would be shocked if he did this under a handful of times. Great job!

Hello! first of all congrats by helping us to try to fix our adapters. =) I have an adaptor that was not working. I opened and released the gear that was stuck and put it in position as if the tape was completely loaded. Then when I slide the button to release the tape it worked fine.. both arms go down releasing the tape and opening the lid. The problem that I am facing is that when I insert a tape, it doest work. dont lift the arms, dont load the tape. dont move at all. It looks like the motor just work in one direction, releasing the tape, but not loading. I checked all the arms and moveable parts and seems fine. but I cant make the gears to run to oposite side lifting the arms.. can you help me on that ?
Hello, thanks :) When you insert the tape and close the lid do you hear strange sounds? Or you hear nothing at all? Do you hear the motor doing something? If the motor is not doing any noise then I would say that it's as if the reader doesn't know that the tape is inside

Grazie Andrea, davvero una guida ben realizzata, chiara ed utile. Il funzionamento per fortuna è ora ripristinato. Ho solo un piccolo problema. E' rimasto il residuo della batteria purtroppo dimenticata per del tempo indefinito nel vano batterie. Stranamente funziona anche con il residuo della batteria (che ho un po' grattato via per quel che sono riuscito a fare). Come mi consiglieresti di rimuovere completamente il residuo della batteria? Non vorrei compromettere il video registratore inserendo l'adattatore. Grazie per quanto saprai dirmi.
Ciao GaS! Grazie per il commento. Per rimuovere i residui più ostinato della batteria ti consiglierei di provare a utilizzare del "wd-40 pulisci contatti". Se invece i residui vengono via facilmente puoi provare con dei cotton fioc imbevuti di alcol (soluzione più economica)

Hi, I have this exact one and can not get it to work. I opened it up while watching your video and checked all the parts. I don't see anything strange. But if I put in a tape and close it, nothing happens. Just nothing. And yes, I tried changing the batteries. Didn't work. Any ideas?
Mmm. If it's not working it means that there is something strange. If everything seems to be in place, I think you may try to check the battery voltage at the motor terminal. If you can measure voltage there I would say that the problem is the motor. If the battery is charged, and nothing works there might be three problems: 1) a faulty motor 2) the wires that bond together the battery and the motor are broken/faulty 3) some switches that create the path from the battery to the motor are broken/faulty. You can test all those problem.with a tester/voltmeter. If you have access to the motor terminal, try to attach the battery directly there. If the motor works, then the problem is on the path battery-motor. If the motor doesn't work, it mean that you have to replace it
Ciao Andrea! Complimenti per il video, mi hai aiutato a capire come funziona! Ma ho un problema che non riesco a risolvere. Quando metto il cassetto si chiude la porta ma non si blocca, e a volte è bloccata e non posso aprirla per mettere il casseto e il tasto si esce. (Il funzionamento interno con la pila é ok, l' ho aperto è credo avere controllato tutto quello che hai detto). So che è difficile per te renderti conto alla lontananza, ma magari sai cosa potrebbe stare succedendo.. Saluti dall' Argentina!
prova a guardare dal minuto @14:38 in poi. il pulsante che apre il cassetto è collegato a quella barra. Controlla che il pezzo bianco che c'è al minuto 15:28 abbia la molla. il pezzo bianco è la parte interna dell'interruttore che apre il cassetto. If you want an english reply just ask ;)
@@andreagiudici926 Grazie mille, ho riprovato a farlo, ma non ho avuto fortuna.. c'è la molla, ma il pezzo bianco a volte si blocca e il tasto non si muove.. Secondo me non è stato bene assemblato/fabbricato perché abbiamo avuto sempre qualche problema con questa porta cassetta.. Saluti!
With the back plate removed, try to place the red piece as I showed on the video, with the black pin inside the red hole. Check also that you are not inserting the red piece with the opposite side. Then with the back side open try to move the red pin as if you are inserting the adapter into the cassette reader. Check if it moves and how it interacts with the white plastic piece
