I actually adore these because even tho they aren't new music necessarily, they're all new arrangements/performances, so they have a merit outside of just being instrumental versions of these tracks. Plus the different track order keeps this album fresh in its own right too. I especially like the mashup songs that kinda just do their own thing. Son was a special surprise as it feels completely different from what it used to and it was really interesting to hear it placed into this collection in a way that made that song feel especially fresh here.
I saw no timestamps, so here’s mine (NOT THE ACTUAL NAMES, JUST WHAT I CALL THEM PLEASE DONT COME AFTER ME) 0:01 - Battesimo del fuoco but it’s majestic 1:56 - idk what this one is, some1 please tell me and I’ll edit it 😭😭😭 6:42 -yellow brick road cover 10:05 - smiling swine but you’re in a biker gang 13:17 - The church and the dime but it’s majestic 18:15 - Red hands R-R-R-REMIX *airhorns*
It's great that they're now releasing the files as live recordings, they are great. I've now known them for 8 years and still listen to them a few times a week. I don't think I'll ever get bored of these. And I was so happy that they came to Germany last year and I could see them live.
The album is the philosophical view on life on if we should look back on our decisions and longing to change things, but we have to accept all things that happen, good and the bad, that all things are as they should be. Sometimes you get it right, sometimes you won’t. Example we’re born and we will die, we can’t change even though we know well in advance of what to expect.
This is a weird take … but this is my favorite Casey’s work ? Like I can see Antimai’s sound developing from this, but this just sound much more unstructured and unpredictable. Reminds me of Act I, more prog but less rock elements.
I could listen to this song all day honestly it’s one of my favorite songs, I don’t usually like songs like this but it’s just I absolutely love the instrumental part, the singing, the lyrics, everything. It’s just an amazing song and I’m so glad I found this hidden gem 👏
I lost my place in the world It left me behind Now my soul is unbound And my mind is free to roam around around around around around around around around around around Thoughts drip down to words on a page All scrawled in a foreign tongue Circles tending toward the center Lead you back to none You can cry, you can beg, you can plead, you can pray You may doubt it, apathetic But you never had control You saw what you wanted But the rest was terrible Pull back the curtain And reveal the guilty So the veil can been lifted And the well will overflow You've been here before You've seen it all But your conscience won't recall And your eyes are barely wide enough To recognize what your heart keeps giving up And someday it might win If your mind's giving in Just try to lose yourself Or do your best 'til then
Man I feel like I never understood the story all that much. It would be so cool if there was like a movie or something with it to help me understand what's happening in a more cohesive way. If someone could tell me like a timeline that would be so helpful. I think I get that they escaped the dime and the city cause the kid killed a man for his mom? and she seems to die in the river, but then it says WE got away and I'm confused. Also, who dafuq is this priest? And I don't understand the knife song at all, what does the knife mean and why does he keep getting in trouble for it? The Pimp and the Priest always gave me the impression that the Dime and the Church were in cahoots, but now I wonder if it's just drawing a parallel between them. Might ask more questions, but I have late assignments. :/
they only pressed so many copies back when they initially came out. i lost my original cd copies years ago and got lucky on ebay over the past 2 years finding sealed copies of act 1 and 2 but finding act 3 in any format is very hard. i have a sexy collection of sealed vinyl and cds from this band. they have been my favorite band since i started listening to them in 2008
@@WhoaD614 Nice :) Yeah, since my last post, I've manged to find used copies of Acts 1 and 2 on eBay for ~$20 each, but I still can't find Act 3, new or used.

When are you gonna come down? When are you going to land? I should have stayed on the farm I should have listened to my old man You know you can't hold me forever I didn't sign up with you I'm not a present for your friends to open This boy's too young to be singing the blues Ah, ah-ah, ah-ah Ah-ah-ah, ah So goodbye yellow brick road Where the dogs of society howl You can't plant me in your penthouse I'm going back to my plough Back to the howling old owl in the woods Hunting the horny-back toad Oh, I've finally decided my future lies Beyond the yellow brick road Ah, ah-ah, ah-ah Ah-ah-ah, ah What do you think you'll do, then? I bet they'll shoot down the plane It'll take you a couple of vodka and tonics To set you on your feet again Maybe you'll get a replacement There's plenty like me to be found Mongrels who ain't got a penny Sniffing for tidbits like you on the ground Ah, ah-ah, ah-ah Ah-ah-ah, ah So goodbye yellow brick road Where the dogs of society howl You can't plant me in your penthouse I'm going back to my plough Back to the howling old owl in the woods Hunting the horny-back toad Oh, I've finally decided my future lies Beyond the yellow brick road Ah, ah-ah, ah-ah Ah-ah-ah, ah
