Thanks! Each one had their pros and cons, but the one with the least cons had to be MX Blacks on Alu with Green Lattice Mount. Sounded cleanest and retained the comfortable typing feel. Surprisingly I couldn’t tell an immediate difference in sound between copper bottom and alu bottom, so I would be happy with either one!
This was absolutely fantastic, my friend! Top notch editing and even the order you put them in seemed well thought-out like an album almost. Listening pleasure! Huge fan!
Cong on the first soldering experience! Not sure if it's too late for a 10-month ago video, but I want to point out that some switches are a little bit off and may need some tweak. When I see the PCB at 3:30 frame, I noticed some switches are just not aligned with others. For example, the "L" key and the "." key. You can also see that from the 3:50 frame with the keycaps. The main reason is that the plastic holders at the bottom is not super accurate, and some switches may get loose. Be sure to firmly push the switches when you solder.
I had to readjust even after using the switch holder, so that’s the reason it ain’t perfect. Thanks for letting me know, I’ll work on those the next chance I get!
Oh man that Rosewill board brings back so much memories, it has served me well for over 10 years. I remember it being such a good bang for the buck for having the same OEM as Filco boards (IINM), while being much cheaper.
Yes! That's absolutely why I got it, and I would probably be rocking it on the desk more often if I used full size and didn't get into custom keyboards
You should probably change your profile pic. I feel like it literally stops people from subscribing when they see that. Hell even if you just changed it to a black background with a white k, or maybe something like how type writers used to have circular keys? Great vid though.
Very nice! I think both GMK and Domikey sound great, and good switch choice too. I think I love the o-ring config the most, but not that the other two were bad by any means. I'd be happy to run this in any of the configs
