I'm wondering how well this system has held up in the years since this was constructed? Also, kudos for keeping the wisteria branch that was sticking out. You made room for it instead of cutting.
Beautiful boards, but don’t take your safety cues from this video. End grain on a planer is a disaster waiting to happen. Much safer to set up a router sled for milling those end grain boards, though it takes some more time it is very satisfying
Amateur mistake: You went from sanding directly to oiling. You should wet it down after sanding, let it dry and sand again. Then oil. Otherwise the first time this gets wet the grain will raise up and it will feel rough.
