Gabriella, thank you very much for the video, for your comments and opinions! It was decisive when choosing my new headphones! I bought the Audio-Technica M50xBT2, I am very satisfied! Excellent build quality, Bluetooth works perfectly and the main one has great sound!
This review was FAR better than others I searched for. I wanted an honest, real life opinion on the ATs (not just a feature review and someone reading the tech specs to me). Don’t listen to the naysayers in your comments. Make more videos!
Thank you, finally a reviewer who values the music over noise cancellation. I feel like we are having the same frustration over this choice lol. Do you notice any difference when using the 3.5 mm aux?
Gab since you did Audio-Technica why not try the new ones ATH-S300 BT with noise cancellation, 90 hours battery , 130$ and yes we would love to see a walking review 😅 take care !!
Thank you for the hilariously honest review, you helped me decide! I went with the M50xBT2 (~220AUD/$150USD on sale) after using a pair of Sony WH-1000XM3 for 5 years. I miss some of the features and noise cancelling but the sound and battery life are incredible and more than makes up for it :)
Great review. I own the Audio Technica M50xBT2, and I highly recommend them! If you choose these, you should be very happy for a long time. They sound great and are very durable. Once, while riding my motorcycle, the wind blew them away onto the street. I thought, “that’s it, they’re done” but no - they’re still working fine to this day! <3
This was useful 😊 I'm turn between the m50s and sony ch720n. The Sonys are cheaper and I'm sure they don't sound as well. But they are lighter and gets good reviews.
I got the non Bluetooth version of the M50x last week and so far I'm extremely impressed with the sound quality. I wanted decent overears for when I'm sitting down, relaxing with my Music and so Bluetooth wasn't an important consideration. Bluetooth and wandering around the house or going out is more than adequately handed by my on ear Marshall Major iv's.....talk about battery life and a very good sound!!! Interestingly, I was expecting the usual Audio-Technica branded "pleather" pouch featured here, which wasn't an issue as these aren't going out and about with me. However, they actually came with a decent hardshell case. I put that down to them being an exclusive Amazon version in Gun metal (more of a dull Silver). That maybe worth consideration for those that want decent protection for their headphones when travelling, I can't see why the Bluetooth version would have a different case.
I watched a ton of vids on headphones, many you can tell are professionally edit super high quality studio likes. However, your vid has the best personality and real world real time review of all three! Loved this, just got my M50xBT2s and like them so much bought another for my sister for her birthday. Well done vid!
A sensible person offering sensible opinions in an accessible way. Why aren't all reviews like this? I'm off to buy some Audio Technica M50BT2 cans now. Thanks!
Niiice honesty!! I also dive to deep to often. And than i see your vid and am happy that you do too. I allready decided for m50xbt2, but didnt receive the unit yet, still hooked to these videos. Jeeeze. I have a little different usecase: i edit videos with sound sometimes and need a pair of mixing headphones but not the super pro kind of budget and need. The bt thing is just rabbithole addon. I could have taken m50x for half the price, but you know the game... how do you feel about your now, one year later?
It was helpful. I went with ath-m50xbt2 as well. I really like your energy and flow. I am pretty similar i think. Nice to know that there are someone somewhere in the world that has similar 1st wotrlds problems and for who details matters and because of that it is hard to take decisions. I think in the end it is a win for me. I am very happy for a long time with my purchases. Also, you have beautiful hair! If you feel good with vlogging, totally stick to it. All the best!
WOW! I literally just went through the same exact journey and also chose the M50xBT2. Got them two days ago and I have still not turned them off or charged them. I got them a brown headband protector, with fluffy brown velour headphones. I also went and got custom-designed protectors from Skinwraps, for them to give them that wooden look. And I absolutely agree. The look of those more expensive modern headphones does look stupid. When I get headphones, I want to look like a WWII bomber pilot or a smuggler from Star Wars. A man of action. Not trying to look like some bland IBM/Google millennial employee with high-water pants and a step-counter watch.
I found zero information about sound characteristics in comparison of these. First I was yeeeeah, she is music critique person, it will be best possible review. What we get? Woman running all around her apartment talking very very generally. Nothing really important said here.. Sadly..
@@gabriellalawrence1065 No offense, but only your personal opinion without any valid data is not much helpful. But since you have 3 different headphones which belongs to same category, there really was a room for nice head to head comparison. For example if you measure earpads in diameter, or if you can describe build quality better. Also I did not hear a thing if they can be used on a cable, because many BT headphones over head can be used "passively" with flat battery which is something you want to know before you buy BUT many shops (hard to believe right?) dont mention that. I have AudioTechnica mx40 for example and its very flat by sound. Hard to looking for some juicy punchy bass even I prefer well balanced sound, these ones are really flat and equalizer does not work well for me either. So other people will be glad to here from you (next time maybe) sound comparison from one to another. "Crisp sound" is not saying much, because you expect really good sound if you buying headphones for that kind off money (at least I for sure). Basically Iam trying to solve which one from this 3 I want to buy and I had high expectations about this video, but I dont know much more, so I decide nothing🙄 Thanks for your reaction (really), be well and I wish you all best to upcoming new year 2024.
1 year later, I found this as my friends and I were debating similar headphones in the Philippines. This was adorable and relatable commentary that felt very relatable to our own concerns. Thanks for this video, Gabriella!
i'm on this channel cause i wanna upgrade the ATH-M50X, i use them from maybe 10 years, they start to stink but the sound is the same. What should be my upgrade? Another M50x?
Gab, are you making more videos? I’d love to hear what music you’re into and suggestions for my music education?! How do you find the outside sound proofing for the ATs? The only hesitation I have is no noise cancelling (but do I really need that?)
Love your First RU-vid Video! Very helpful and you're funny off the cuff delivery was a pleasure... I'm also thinking of the Marshall Monitor IIs. Have you listened to the Marshalls? Thanks!!
Hi there! I'll admit I did not try the Marshalls, but based on the reviews I should have - they sound like a comparable alternative. I am still perfectly happy with my ATs - no complaints re sound/comfort/ease of use. If you compare the two, let me know what you think. After spending so much time deliberating, it occurred to me that I knew I would keep the ATs right away. I had to go through the process, but they were the "right ones" from the moment I put them on. I hope you have a similar experience.
Just to let you know each return you make the product value goes down almost half. Will be sold has refurbished if that. If the seller is small you are basically taking money out of their pockets. I avoid returning stuff as much as i can.
@Wiktor Łyziński So to test them you just buy a bunch and return them? You literally have to lie about the return reason every time. Or you can go to BestBuy and test them out.Or watch RU-vid reviews. It's all good until you start ruining small businesses.
wow u have a beautiful rich aura I love your content :), oh n by the way I've found this super cathartic musician that is so good I can play it all day every day for years, if you try on RU-vid "Rec Archive - Tame Impala Innerspeaker Official Demos" it'll be the YT compressed version though it still sounds nice, but if you enjoy n want the uncompressed they have an Innerspeaker 10th anniversery album that's released containing all of these amazing demos in flac quality, he's a platinum record artist so this isn't an advert don't worry :D, I just think it could possibly be one of your new favourite music (it's incredibly healing, he's done mushrooms n it's astronomically aligned more or something because not many people sound like this lol).
Hey nice review . How's the bass response on the Audio Technica? Ive listened to the Sony one and thought they were a little on the muddy side. I know it's subjective , but I normally prefer clarity on the highs and enough punch on the lows and mids but not so overpowering like some of the Sony ones out there
thank you it was very useful as i choosing now between Audio-Technica and sony, and most reviewers on youtube looks like they can be sponsored by companies so i don't really trust them
@@gabriellalawrence1065 according to the AT website, it's faux leather and is suitable for vegans; at least that's what I found out. Sennheiser M3 uses sheepskin tho
Luckily, I'm not a serious RU-vidr (though I am considering talking about my new 1985 Mercedes 300D - impressions, regrets, etc. ) but if I make a video again I'll do my best to keep still.
@@gabriellalawrence1065 Nope, walk, walk, walk! It didn't affected your mic anyway. I was quite happy to see a video of someone walking around telling stuff. Which mic did you use by the way?
