Hi, I‘m Nikolai 👋🏼 I'm a CS grad student at TUM and I'm here to share some of my thoughts and experiences on life, studying and everything else that I'm passioned about. Follow me along the ride!
É tão bom poder ver um vídeo como o seu, que mostra com detalhes o campus da Peking University. Eu torço para que um dia você volte para postar mais vídeos para nós.

Hey! Thank you for this amazing video ! You're right, there isn't a lot of stuff about PKU and the campus online. I'm going too as an exchange student next fall term, but I have a lot of questions and it is difficult to find the information 😭 I was wondering, how did you pay your meals and the dorm? Did you have some kind of bank account? Also, I was looking for prices in Global Village and couldn't find any, can I ask you how much did cost your room? Thank you !!!
You can open a bank account on campus (ICBC) on arrival. Will be super important as you want to use Alipay/Wechat Pay. The rooms at global village are around 3300 rmb/month (depending on exact room type tho)
Hey man, great video! It really helped me get a better feel for what studying in China, specifically Beijing, would be like! I am interested in applying to PKU and was wondering if you could help me with one question I had. You mentioned in the video that one of your classes was studying Chinese business culture, which led me to believe that it was along the realm of business/international business. Could you tell me what your major is? I would like to pursue a bachelor's in international business/relations in an English course (I have taken Mandarin for years, but I am not fluent enough to take a class in it haha), but have had no luck in finding a course such as that available at PKU. Any information you have would be extremely great. Again, great video!
The course was called "Chinese Society and Business Culture". It could be that it is not offered each semester (I took it during the summer term). It is offered by the Guanghua School of Management. My major is CS (so not related at all), but since I was a general visiting student I could take courses from any faculty. Hope that helps.
@@nikolaimadlenerhello I have a dream to pursue CS major in china especially in university like Peking. I am from Chinese ethnicity but I was born and raised other country. I am not as fluent at people in china, do u think I stand a chance be there, and do u have any suggestion at literally anything?
Can non students visit the campus or is it just for the students/staff that attend there ?? If I knew somebody thats goes there , would admins allow me to go inside and visit them even if i'm not an student myself ???
There, on that campus, I walked with Chen Duxiu, Hu Shih and Li Dazhao talking about the future of China. I didn't like Hu Shih very much but he was a great person. We had serious political differences, for some reason he ended up living in Taiwan.
At my university (TUM), I could apply via our exchange program. If you are already enrolled at university you could check out if you have a similar program and if there are any chinese partner universities you can apply for. Once admitted, one of the most important requirements is to obtain a student Visa.
How can I get into the peking Medical University as an international student from Pakistan 🇵🇰 for the Mbbs program Please tell me brother Thanks in advance ❤
How do you apply for the dorm at Peking University since I have a plan for studying Chinese there? How many types of dorms are there that allow for international student, or any recommendations?
I didn't speak any chinese before my exchange and I had an amazing time there. Of course, it will make life way easier if you speak mandarin when going to China, but you can also just pick it up while being there by taking a language course for example. In my opinion, they best way to learn a language is learning it IN the actual country :)
Yum! Where was lunch (3:04)? And are you studying economics (First class)? Would love to gain some perspective of english taught economic courses as that I intend to do! Plus, which dorms are they, Shaoyuan or Global Village?
That was at the Nongyuan canteen. The first class was called „Chinese Society and Business Culture“. Really liked it and can recommend it if you wanna learn more about China in general. Didn‘t take any econ courses tho, just comp sci and management. I stayed at Global Village like all the international students :)
really nicely edited! id only ask if you could maybe level out the volume? because your voice is difficult to hear relative to the music (which is quite loud)
Nice video! People in the campus do not lock their bikes ? where I live (Brazil), leaving your bicicle unlocked for 5 minutes and leaving, is basically certain that you're going to be robbed LOL
You're right! Most of the students don't lock their bikes. They even leave their backpacks or phones on tables in the canteen to reserve a place before they go and grab some food. China is really safe, and even safer within the campus.
Lovely! Just keep in mind that PKU is moving it‘s CS departments gradually to the new Changping campus. It‘s a little outside the city with kinda poor public transport. Thus, for CS related degrees, I would also consider Tsinghua. All the best for your future endeavours!
Unfortunately, I'm not in China anymore. Still have a bit of footage of Tsinghua campus on my phone tho - I may do a short one. Campus is also amazing there... Will improve the sound in the upcoming videos!
