Welcome Warlord! This channel is dedicated to Tactics, especially in Bannerlord. I'm William, an 'almost retired' firefighter.I love history, strategy games, battlefield tactics and especially the history of warfare and great war leaders. Much like the European Enlightenment of the 18th century, our goal is to reawake your tactical senses and through the demonstration of unique, advanced and sometimes ancient war tactics, improve your gameplay, game skill and success at Bannerlord.
Epic siege holy cow. Ty for your efforts. I think if you would have split the Archers an put like 20 on the hill behind the square or stayed put you would have won. But the appeal of flanking to the back was so tempting even just watching. Still great defense with what you had sir.
This is great! I just started a campaign with the UnlimitedCap mod so I can take every companion I find to build up a deadly army. Playing on the hardest difficulty and NO save scumming. It's building up to be a really fun campaign so far! Just spent probably 2 years smithing to afford all their gear lol

I don't mind dark videos ! Don't do it in the rain that will make it really hard! Had a night battle in swamp and it rain didn't see shit! But I outnumbered the enemy 2 vs 1 charge! 😂 It's lucky that the ai has heat googles or something!
Yeah, there's that unfortunate part, the AI sees just FINE in the dark and the rain, and we're handicapped. For that reason alone I try and avoid it, but it's also bad for video for you fellas...
Turns out cities are optimal IF you can avoid being sallied out against. Still haven't managed a solo job, but we'll see... Not sure if I am patient enough, it takes like ten days just to make the ram lol... Also funny to picture one guy out there building a giant siege tower while hundreds inside watch...
So I almost fought my first ever siege defence in Epicrotia (spelling) last night. However, I fucked up. I thought sally out was the action to assault the siege engines. So there I was, outside the city walls with 400 middling units vs 1400 stacked Battanians. But I played it out cause I gotta live up to Uncle Headless tactical doctrine, right. Adversity is entertainment. I used the very same Epicrotia bridge defence I've seen you use on the channel. Archers on the rise, javaline skirmisher screen. infantry square at the bridge kiting to the side. Shock troops in reserve and cavalry constantly countercharging once the attackers stall. Textbook. We lost 33 men, and the enemy lost everything, including Calidog. It was glorious slaughter!
I remember you mentioning that defending archers have infinite ammo, so why didn't you place some archers and the wall left of your square of the second defending area? The archers should have been able to shoot even into the tunnel from above all time. Or is there smth I don't see? Like at 1:00:39 on the wall on the left leading behind you. And why don't you refill your javs? And after all those questions: Really fucking good job! This is so entertaining to watch. I am continously on the edge watching this, nearly screaming fuck you and fuck you too as well towards my screen xD The music alone is fitting so well, but together with the slomos and the own knowledge how difficult this is to pull off actually, just epic indeed.
Thank you! it was epic for sure, and in the future I will be splitting my archer corps more often, but I hadn't learned to do that consistently when I played this battle out...
48:16 I'm American, but my dad was born in England. And to this day you still have Republicans. That's not the same to what we consider in the United States, you know the GOP. Republicans in England are from the original word meaning, in other words a state without a monarch. And there are not a small percentage over there, you can actually find a lot of Republicans to this day. Many who are from families that have been Republicans since the British civil war, still feel a bit used, because of the compromise that ended up happening which retained the monarchy, admittedly without any powers. But it does not have that edge that you still find with those who identify with the Confederacy in some inaccurate atavistic way
Yeah I've wondered. So many Brits were killed in that civil war there had to be lasting feelings. I remember hearing something like 7-10% of the population died in the war, which is astonishing...
I keep trying to put this on in the background while I flounder in Bannerlord2 but I keep getting enraptured. Even my boyfriend stopped what he was doing to watch the last huge siege defense video. You're doin a lot of things right.
High praise indeed, and proof(I think) that some small minority of women watch these battles. The youtube stats say 4-6%, which is pretty awesome, even if it's not accurate...
GJ. But looks this is wall lvl1. I would like to also test this kind of siege with 4 ballista and strong shield wall. Building family companion's clans that's take a time to increase companions in Army.
It's definitely not Throwing skill that determines how far you can throw a catapult ammunition. I have 330 throwing and your bombs go about 3 times farther than mine do
I'm pretty perplexed then because I had a guy say it was throwing skill which would have made sense. Do you have high athleticism high engineering skill? I'd love to get to the bottom of it ..
I live near Seattle Washington so I'm an hour behind you but sometimes I have episodes scheduled to publish. I do this so I can still have a life go on vacation and have videos published for you fellas when I'm not available.
I'm curious about what your opinion on this would be. Do you enable the AI to pick your companions perks, or do you do them all manually? Does the AI do a decent job at auto picking the perks, or should I not even bother trying it. BTW I love these seige battles
No no, absolutely DO not let them. The AI does wacky things. SPECIALIZE your companions, either as warriors or governors(or *maybe* a smith). You want to have about 60-70% warriors in my opinion and 20-30% governors/party leaders/specialists.

I would have prioritized des Troying that Ram, Gate needs to hold. You should have set a shield wall IN the 2nd gatehouse while place the archers on the second walls. Great Siege.
Taking down 1,429 enemies solo and racking up 7,200 total casualties-then still having a moment to enjoy the sunrise before your epic last stand. What a legend! 😂🌅

It's the most epic one I've ever fought in for sure and that's probably a hundred huge sieges! Thrilled to find fellow siege enthusiasts here in large numbers. We're all winners here for sure, as I'm very happy to share.

I mostly use a HyperX Cloud III, wireless headphones. It's not a funding problem for sure, though that's very generous. I'm probably going to punch the monetize button eventually anyways to help with some of the costs of the channel(file hosting/editing/etc), especially since RU-vid is already advertising without my permission... My main problem is trying to find the ideal recording setup. Advice would be very welcomed!
Can you give us to mod list I tried op copenions several times in my plays but they use their leves by themself and its realy devoloping slow and I see that your game nearly at 200 yeqrs ahed how the compenion still alive
I don't use mods to modifying my companions. There ARE mods out there but I don't know their names. Maybe someone here could help. My companions are high level from either birth(high level parents) or from a MASSIVE amount of battle experience...
Great video. For the record, I'd have had no problem with you keeping the square and archer flank to finish them off, but the most important thing is, of course, having fun in a game. Thanks for sharing and have a great weekend.

I noticed in a video from a couple months ago you take too many troops so some desert- if you can remember anytime you’re over limit donate them to the other lords in your army so you don’t lose them, just hate to lose some tier 6 troops in place of recruits
Only raided 812 villages, sacked 29 castles, took their cities over and over and took their lords prisoner so often they knew me by their first name...
You are playing with the unit overhaul off, which is weird combination when the combat module is on. We designed the combat module together with the unit overhaul, results might be very imbalanced when the unit overhaul is off, like archers shooting wrong bows and arrows, recruits being total garbage (they do much better with overhaul because they have shields and spears, etc). Unit overhaul off option is mainly for people that play with some other unit overhaul and they dont want RBM units to slash with it. Our unit overhaul is ofcourse compatible with vanilla since we are using same IDs, so it is not going to corrupt your save or something.
I will for sure try this the next time I am going to have an RBM-spree. I appreciate the time you guys put into the mod and for the record, I love the mod, but I often record with vanilla because I know so many players cannot use RBM(console mostly).

I just like to watch other people play RBM to get a different perspective, to understand whether our design works correctly when someone else plays the game etc. BTW: RTS camera definitelly works for me with RBM, I am using the version from Steam (for 1.2.10) and I am loading it after RBM.

I have somthing to tell you you know how you have a war of attrition. it appears that i have entered a mini war of attrition myself with valandia and battania (my kingdom is only made up of Charas and Unsac castle) and in a panic i in-prisoned like all the lords that came to attack my kingdom, because my town Charas was under attack (from a force of over 2000 against my 500 but this deserves its own comment) but now the threat is gone and i am lost. should i let go of them or keep them?
The archers may not work correctly with the unit overhaul off (I can tell its off because the recruits have no shields and spears for example) because their arrows and bows might be incorrect with vanilla units. Also the damage reduction to 25% may not work correctly in RBM, always played with full damage + RTS camera so I just reincarnate to other soldier and continue leading after falling that way. Archers based on my tests actually do more damage than melee infantry when used correctly, however it is true they do less kills, equivalent of having tons of assists in shooter game.
Interesting... I hadn't thought much about how archers might not be strong enough without the troop alterations. Gives me a reason to dip deeper into it. Are you one of the makers of the mod?? If so, honored and pleased to meet you bud.
I went from barely holding my own on a 1:1 fight to fearlessly running into 3:1 fights with the odds against me because of this channel. Very fun to watch, too!

Between my weenie tactics and the dummy allied a.i armies, I was getting nowhere. Last night after I watched this video I got the urge to play and wiped out 4 armies and only lost maybe 50 people total.
That was fantastic, great job! you call this an EPIC SEIGE? dont want to gloat but i once defended against an army of 650 against my 300 elite troops. LOL
LOL, I hear you brother, I remember feeling that the 1000 Western Empire bashing on the door at Amitatys and my 30 troops and 300 defenders was the most intense thing I've ever felt in a game...
Yeah I think that secondary defense is very viable and I'll consider that still, I think there's value in the holding the main defense at least for a while. If you give up your first offense right away in the second gets blown open here in real trouble...
Vocab gets saltier than a deer lick, in the military. After separating I had a limp, a smoking problem, and swore like a politician campaigning for reelection.
I have all the speed perks as well things like faster movement less armor weight etc. My arm is very heavy though so I'm not sure the difference. Sometimes we do use the 30% troop movement banners which makes an amazing difference...
I just recently found out about Bannerlord. This has led me to your channel, and I gotta say you have the most entertaining videos by far. Never censor yourself, stay real.

When they were approaching with their shield wall, that moment the AI should have desperately been trying to get his cavalry passed yours to interrupt the archers, or at least trying to flank something behind those trees. Anything to sew a little bit of chaos and get some shots, even a few, off their shields.
