My flat bar is 24" and it barely fits in my bag. The fencing pliers can also be used to hammer the flat bar into a tight space. I like a longer one to keep my knuckles away from the sharp stuff. The 24" length can also dig a better hole than a shorter one. If I need to heat one end, it's long enough to have a "handle end" that's stays cool enough to touch. Remember to disinfect the water from a building, filter if possible. No telling how long that water has been sitting in the pipe. My bag has a Sawyer filter straw in it and purification tablets. (which I need to replace in December). Also a 16 oz stainless steel water bottle and fire starting materials. All stuffed into a water tight plastic creatine supplement container. Love the lock pick idea. My bag has a small tool kit inside. I know, a little more weight, but better than a multi-tool. Since a long walk home includes both urban and rural for me, I have a Cold Steel Bowie machete and Morakniv w/sharpening puck. A file is in my tool kit to touch up any metal burrs.

people get your gear that you need first then find out how many liters you need by doing some math then buy a bag thats slightly bigger because people buy a pack usually bigger then they need and over fill it with stuff they dont need or will rarely use

I subscribed also. I found you vid, almost by accident, but glad I did. I'm glad to see more people realizing the different struggles, therefore necessary tools, for urban survival. Like you Saud, this isn't meant to be an exhaustive list. It's just meant to give a few ideas, make people think. Hurt my brain already. Lol

Glad to see someone else understands the value of a fence tool. Its designed for cutting and pulling that gauge of fence. Plus it can also be used as a weapon in a pinch. I don't think I have to elaborate what that spike would do to the human skull.

I would say that these 5 items are pretty well thought out. Bear Spray, pry bar and fencing pliers should seem reasonable to most. The sillcock key is often overlooked, but, very important and cheep to buy. Many may not understand lock picks for survival. In the case of a weather event or civil unrest, getting out of the street and under cover could save your life. Nearly all urban doors are kept locked. You will need two sets. One in your bag and one handy for you to practice with.

Question will bolt cutters work on place of wire cutters? The wire cutters you showed as an example are just to big and cumbersum...in my 60's and trying to be as prepared with the 10 d's and add urban considerations on top of it! Thanks for the vides... Invaluable to old ladies like me who are trying to prepare the best they can and be at least aware enough to know there could be a need for some things I think for my age all a 37to 64l pack on s a good start😊
@Wastelandman7000
@Wastelandman7000 Год назад
I've owned both bolt cutters and the fence tool is smaller and lighter. And if you're talking about diagonal pliers you're going to need high grip strength to make those work. Same with linesman pliers. Some bayonets come with built in wire cutters by using the blade hooked to a pivot in the sheath and they have good leverage. That's what I'd recommend for you. The easiest to use are bolt cutters. They're also the heaviest. Fence tools require a bit more effort but, are lighter than bolt cutters. Bayonets that can cut wire are probably the lightest option that doesn't require huge grip strength. Plus you get an extra knife. Wire cutters and linesman pliers require the most grip strength to make work. Not who you asked the question of, but, hope that helps.
