Hi Frank - Thank you a bunch for sharing this. I'm considering the Chief II and have some questions: 1) You mentioned this is a gas unit... by gas, are you referring to propane? I ask because the Chief II that I'm looking at says it's powered by Propane. 2.) The Diesel burner... was that included with the Chief II? If not, how much extra does it cost to add the diesel burner? 3.) Is the diesel contained within the diesel burner, and the machine itself is running off gasoline? (or propane?) 4.) I've heard that the Chief II diesel unit requires a diesel vehicle... Is this true? Frank - thank you again for this great video! I am looking at setting up a business in South Florida and am close to purchasing a unit... but don't know which one. May I give you a call on the number advertised on your truck to get your thoughts on this? Thank you again, and that's a killer setup!!
Thank you for sharing. A few questions: 1) I've never worked with propane, so I don't know what I don't know about propane. Anything I should know? (Cost factor, safety, any special permits required to transport these in my van?) 2.) Chief I is rated at 120k BTU and Chief II is rated at 180k BTU.... what does this actually mean for temperature difference at the machine? At the wand? 3.)Chief 1 @ 331 CFM vs Chieft II @ 495 CFM - How much of a difference does this make? Especially when it comes to hose runs. 4.) How easy is it to service TCS? I am in the South Florida market. 5.) My goal is to do carpet, tile, upholstery, air ducts, and water extraction.... will the Chief and Chief II both be capable of doing this? Edit: I am referring to the Chief II NON diesel model... so the propane model. Edit 2: I don't see any information listed for these as it relates to chemical injection. Are these last step chem injections? Do they have a chem reservoir? Thank you again for the great video!!
propane is efficient and is not expensive. A full tank last us about 1-2 weeks. If the burner flame were to blow out, turn off the gas and let it air out first. If not, it could backfire on you. Just follow the instructions and you will not have a problem. There are not any permits required on a factory installed unit, that I know of.
The comet pump is okay. You have to do your regular maintenance, ie check valves kept clean. I use a marine battery on one unit and the other is tied into the van battery.
Employee: I hate starting Monday mornings cleaning everything. Boss: no problem we can just stay late on Friday nights. Employee: Monday mornings are good with me.
I'm getting a Chief installed this week. Very excited. I really wanted to get a Judson TNT, which I believe is the best truckmount on the market, but space restraints in my standard-length van required me to go with a more space-saving unit, so the Chief was the fallback, as Mike Monteif designed it on many of Judson's principles. It's basically a "baby Judson". TCS has an awesome service department and I'm excited about my relationship with them.

Frank, I plan to get the big area rug in my family room, which my two dogs love, cleaned somewhere around the 3rd week of June as are supposed to (barring more COVID complications) host a large family reunion here beginning 7/1-7/5. I really don’t want to get it done before then because of my dogs! May I use it then, and if so, you can just hold it for me? Thanks!
technically it is hot water, 195 degrees in this case. I use the term steam clean, because the public commonly associates that with hot water, Just like people say they want their carpets steam cleaned, when in truth it is hot water, 195 degrees plus.
I am a professional house cleaner, one of my customers is very concerned about their oriental rugs, which have been passed down by generations. Doing some research and this was very helpful. Thank you for sharing!
