Actually further back is the Chinese who understood the cancellation of the dragon.. but I suppose they didn’t exist in the western mind back in the history books
The Roman’s were the most blood thirsty ruthless corrupt empire of its age. Romans routinely murdered, raped and stole from indigenous people. In reality the Roman’s were the barbarians.
Nice story. Can be all lies still. Dragons can be very real. All this metafore talk - sure. All metafores. Offa's Dyk is real. Castles are very very big.
owain Glydwr and his charge to save Britons, from the invading barbaric, anglo saxon english invaders from bratvurst land! and the buggers are still here, letting in more, daily!
Oh the romans gave it to us? Like the saxons did all the other things on this isle. Fuckoff m8. Same old same old nonsense. It couldnt be anything from the welsh it must have been given to us. It is the same shyte all the time.
I can walk around my small Vermont hometown (population about 6,000) and see Palladio's legacy everywhere. The same is true throughout New England, where the general principles he stressed and which his buildings exemplified can be seen everywhere, even when they're reduced to the bare outlines shown in his Four Books. So much descends from those four books that one is hard-put to name all of the structures, from grand public buildings (the third Vermont capitol building) to many of the private homes built in the 18th and 19th Centuries. Palladio was the master whom generation upon generation of architects and builders relied for inspiration and instruction. The great Andrea is my main man!
High-school DXD has the red and white dragons as main characters red is Ddraig and white Albion a very funny anime and light novel for anyone interested in those things.
@@alynwillams4297 I’m Welsh and I think you are too, so I’m used to having a dragon symbolise my ancestors and I’m ok with that 🏴 quite fierce and admirable. Just researching Welsh history and love it tbh.
An interesting video. Thank you for sharing. I think Kit Marlowe could have been Shakespeare not just a contemporary, or possibly Sir Francis Bacon. ^^
a true welshborn patriot, glyndwr showed no matter the odds cymru will have a voice, echoed by the defiance against tyranny. Owain glyndwr was the last true prince of wales, all others are not.
One of the things that makes me so proud to be Welsh is the fact that for a country with such a tiny population, we really do punch above our weight and then (with the exception of Zulu),we don't brag or boast, we simply carry on with our business
Glad I crossed paths with your channel. Good work. Decided to read more about this guy. Did some really evil stuff, but with Nero coming it doesn't come close to that lil turd.
A story about bards being prosecuted and their way of life, being outlawed described through analogy of the king putting them to death is very…. Bard of them.
No evidence that the Silures ever were defeated. They fought the Romans for thirty years, twenty of them even after their leader, Caradoc was betrayed by the Brigantes. The Romans certainly built a large town, Caerwent, for them to run as a civitas and to keep their royal line. Cardiff, Caerdydd, is so called because it means the City of the Agreement. It was where the Romans and Silures AGREED to end their warfare.
Fantastic channel! Can’t wait to see you grow & the videos you make in the future. Would love to see you collab with Cambrian Chronicles & cover the sub-Roman kingdoms like Ebrauc, Rheged etc. Keep doing what you’re doing 😁
Very well done. I like having a focus on the Old Kingdom. Are you planning to do Middle & New? The emphasis on the changes in art/religious function in later buildings is particularly good. (Love the Cannibal Hymn & Unas' Causeway exposition)
@@SteelCathedralsreally? If so I'm so sorry, that was kinda rude of me tbh. Has the audio been run through some kinda voice filter or editor? There's just something strange about the way it says certain words - the stresses and intonation on certain words is "off" compared to others. like "consul in the country" "his most famous find" and the word "papyrus". It's like there's an effect on it if it's not AI.
@@Jordan_Starr Yeah it’s my voice. Could be my Welsh/British accent that’s troubling you perhaps. Either way I appreciate you taking the time to watch the video and comment.
The White Dragon (Anglo-Saxon) fought the Red Dragon (Welsh). Ther White Dragon won, but the Red dragon fought so well, he was allowed to live and speak his own language. This is the knub of the ledgeon, telling the taler would take a very longh time.
