Lucy and Carol ran comedic circles around Dick Cavett. I wish Dick asked more intellectual questions instead of the typical nonsense these interviewers asked women celebrities of the day.
Carol has often said how close they were. Lucile passed on Carol’s birthday and later that afternoon Lucille’s flowers arrived for her. Ive seen different clips of her telling the story and Carol gets choked up every time.

This is very interesting. My elementary school principal’s “ministry”, after Sacred Heart Elementary School, in Knoxville, TN, was Brushy Mountain State Penitentiary. I rest my case.
I am RC I went to a school with nuns not a happy experience very maladjusted and not happy with life people you would expect. I got hit a lot why would they do that? That said I knew no different so just took the crap on the chin.
I grew up watching Carol Burnett but I was to young to understand the humor...I have since watched her show and skits as an adult and I fully understand why she was a big deal...I laughed so much watching her...great show...great actress.
Shows, like Charlies. Angels had to be on the Set by. 6:30 in the Morn. Those two had NO idea what alot of the * other Stars had to put up with hrs. wise. These two Women ran their shows& most Stats around them worked FOR their show. These two Women were spoiled!!!!!!!
In my youth, I had no regard for this show, nor Tom Snyder or Bob Costas. Now, here I am, years later, digging into the goldmines of information and entertainment these shows had to offer. I am so glad these videos are available for me to enjoy now that I'm not young enough to know everything.
I love how when Lucille was talking about committing suicide by a limo and joked about it, everyone but Lucie was laughing. I can understand why, since that's her mom talking about killing herself, and if she did, she wouldn't exist.
My first grade teacher was a nun and totally mean and scary. How can you be mean to little kids? Especially the sweet, shy ones? I’ll never understand it. Or condone it since I experienced it.
Was Lucille drunk or under the influence of something ? Lots of tics, hand gestures, constant hankie folding, lip touching. Just looks odd today. But what a talent against Carol Burnett.
