In "Touch," the woodwind reed instrument is a soprano saxophone, I think. It sounds very similar to a clarinet in its middle range, but the low range is where you can tell it's a saxophone. Motherboard- it's Bb clarinet and flute joined by an oboe towards the end. The oboe, in that range, sounds like a string-woodwind hybrid, partly due to the double reed.

one of my fav details in this album has to be the ending of savior complex. the chord structure throughout most of it sounds pretty melancholy but still very beautiful, with big swells and crescendos - but the last chord leaves it feeling incomplete and kind of discordant and eerie. from a musical theory kind of standpoint, it’s really cool how she mirrors that in the lyrics - throughout the song she says ‘show me yours, i’ll show you mine’ but also mentions she’s a bad liar, and ends the song with just ‘show me yours’, leaving the lyrics incomplete too. this album honestly blew my mind - the composition, lyrics, and production are all insanely good! i loved seeing someone react to this from an audio nerd perspective hahaha
It’s hard to believe that so many musician reactors are checking out Silk Sonic songs and talk about everything but the MUSIC! All you guys talk about throwback, mics used, instruments played, background vocals mixes and placement! No one says crap about the chord progressions and chord extensions-like the minor 9th and 11th chords! As a composer-jazz pianist, what drew these guys to me initially was the chordal structure; everything else fell into place after that. Still, I haven’t heard that kind of harmonic intensity in pop music for 50 years and I’m here for it! 🔥
On Garden Song, that's not a down-tuned voice -- that's like her European road manager or something and he's like a 6'7" giant dude. She asked him to sing on the song not knowing if he could or not.
Was grinning through this whole video! Love to see other people appreciating the detail that goes into Bright Eyes records. The high male harmony is Andy LeMaster - he's on loads of Bright Eyes records, basically part of the whole sound. Love any time he's on a track.
You guys should give Positions (album) by Ariana Grande a listen! The instruments are very orchestral, but with heavy trap beats! Her vocals are intouchable as always! Also this video was so much fun! Hoping you guys venture to Ariana's discography too!
Would love to see you guys react to their 2007 Alive Tour album. The combination of their albums for it is incredible. It's a shame I was 7 when they were touring otherwise I'd have loved to have been there.

No. its T-Kat. even the Verse, its a 3 Part Harmony with Paak, Bruno and TKat. people make this mistake in every video i seen because they both sound the same. If Bootsy had a in music it would be T-kat.
