Hi GG, very helpful interview! I am currently preparing for a Program Manager role (Non-Tech). Watching through the video, I feel okay using the same situation, but in one example I can go over the overall strategy (Are right a lot), and in the other maybe go towards details of data-oriented decision-making involved(Diving Deep / delivering results). Do you think this approach is good to go with? (As the content/ jargon could discussed in two situations during the loop)
awesome video GG... I was never comfortable answering this question but your advice just made it so easy. I think now I also understand what an interviewer is trying to get out is not to find weakness but what you do about it? how do you use your strength and actions to improve.
@4:25 I guess this is what’s happening to me right now. The recruiter told me I scored high in Leadership Principles but the role was not quite a fit for me and he’s gonna look for other roles within Amazon.
Loved your videos GG... you mentioned going only 3-5 years but I have 10 years of experience till 2022 then I went to graduate school and more recent roles are not directly related to the domain that they are looking for. So is it ok to pick stories that are relevant for the role but are 8-10 years old?
20:55 I had my interview yesterday and I found out tonight I was not advanced in the process. I wanted to share how it was conducted because it was not at all what I expected and that was frustrating to me. The interviewer took 10 minutes to tell me about his Amazon career and his responsibilities. Then no softball type questions such as "why do you want to work at Amazon?" or "tell me about yourself?" - he did not even ask me any behavioral questions. We spent 40 minutes where he asked me about SQL Queries, PowerBI and Tableau. I had 20+ stories I had prepared to discuss using the STAR technique and the leadership principles and he just asked me technical questions, which are part of the role but not the entire part of the role.
We do tell people to be prepared for anything. That a first round could be any combination of hygiene, functional or behavioural questions. I’m sorry it didn’t with work out for you.
I received mail from Amazon as Application Status update saying that I didn't complete an online assessment for Amazon and so application is no longer be considered. However, asking me to feel free to apply to the same role again or any other role in Amazon. What does it mean? Is it the same scenario like Not inclined recycle where they felt raised the bar but not quite right and not my day? However, it says that on a certain date I received an online assessment which I did not complete fully before the deadline and so the application is no longer under consideration and conveying to feel free to this role or any other role.
Thank you so much! I gave the interview till the last all five. Last one I couldnot give as per full potential and keen on Amazon. Does having interviews till the last have more chance of selection? Thank you so much once again. This is so helpful
1. While submitting the writing assessment, should i specifically mention "situation", then under that the paragraph description aboutbthe situation, then next "Task", then under that paragraph description about the Task to be done like that?? Or should i submit it simoly in paragrpah wise? Does mentioning situation, task, action and result create any problem or is it recommended? 2. During the Loop interview, does the interviewers / bar Raiser asks me in detail about the story I mentioned in Writing Assessment?
I had an interview for an Amazon ops supervisor position. The recruiter sent me an Email 4 weeks ago that your interview was successful and they need approval from the work council. What can I do in my situation?
@@amazoninterviewwhizzdayone503 Thank you for your message. Today, I have received a response from the recruiter that the work council rejected your hiring. Is it possible to ask the recruiter to recommend me for the same position at another site? Do I need to go again with the whole loop(e.g. assessment test, interview) when I apply for the same role?
Hi GG, I had my interview today evening and he gave me a feedback saying what I should and shouldn't do in an Amazon interview after one and half hour of grilling session. Also mentioned that he's in the process of interviewing more candidates when I asked him how many rounds do I expect. Should I consider this over (I mean rejected) or was he just checking how will I react to a negative feedback. Which I definitely took positively and mentioned that I will take these into consideration next time if at all. I was interviewed by my reporting manager not HR
@@amazoninterviewwhizzdayone503 I cleared it and received a congratulatory note with a 4 hour last round scheduled with various program managers next week. Phew! Thanks a lot. Your videos are absolutely helpful. BTW it is an L5 position based out of HQ in central London
@@amazoninterviewwhizzdayone503 I received a congratulatory email today with the last round scheduled for next week. It's a 4 hour interview with 4 different project managers. It is for an L5 role based of Amazon's HQ in central London. But I am wondering if the HR is quoting a base salary of GBP 55k per annum. Should I consider it. Is it at par with the market rate?
@@amazoninterviewwhizzdayone503 I got selected for the loop round that's to happen on the 9th. One of the interviewers on the panel is the same person who's my reporting manager. Any words of wisdom. Thanks for your help. It's a 4 hour session starting from 2 in the afternoon till 11 at night with small breaks in between. The position is based in London and it's an L5 role
Hello GG, Fantastic efforts from your side to educate us on this complex yet efficient process. 🖖Today i had a phone screen for a L6 PM (non tech)... it was supposed to be an hour, but we were done in 30 mins {i do talk fast 😳 }... my interviewer did ask the 3 Behavioural questions, I think it went well...but not to sure if i made it next level.👀👀
Hi, I had completed my interview in amazon , its been 10 days till now i didnt received any feedback , i have shared email aswell for feedback but i dint get any reply from them . They have shard one survey form to complete . i completed it , is it a positive sign or negative ?
Location : US. Hi, I had my loop interviews with Amazon. I attended first 3 and also the last one. The 4th interview was bar raiser which I forgot to attend. I received a call from him at 12:10PM. I thought my interview was at 2PM. This was because I had 5 interviews scheduled at 2PM in last 2 weeks. So my subconscious mind read 12 as 2PM. So, I called back bar raiser and asked if he can interview me now. He said he can’t now as he is busy for the rest of the day. But after 10 minutes I’ve got rescheduled email from Recruiter for Monday afternoon. The debriefing call is on Tuesday. Can you please tell me what effect would it have on my candidacy? Do they take missing interviews seriously. Please help. Thanks 🙏
Hi, Thank You so much for all the detailed videos, I have a question GG actually, today I had loop interview and in the last call, my whtsapp web in the laptop had multiple calls which distrubed the interview but the interview went well, Will it gives negative remark on my profile? I am Sorry I am not sure where to ask the question, looking for positive feedback.
The stupid Amazon approach of asking for STAR-examples of real life experiences also leads to overly positive and glorifying replies of the candidates, especially if they are good liers and good in making up stories.
Well it’s a stupid approach used by the majority of top tier companies on the planet. Proctor & Gamble, General Electric, IBM, Meta, Google, Walmart, Microsoft, EY, PWC, to name a few
@@amazoninterviewwhizzdayone503 well then that's even more sad. Btw I had applied at EY and in the interview they never asked a behavioral question about past experiences. This is also what I've heard from others who applied there.
Gigi, how to recognize which leadership principle does that question belongs to. I got this confusion in my interview yesterday, and stammered for a moment, guessing shich story to pick. Please give a trick.
The trick is “answer the question”. The question is connected to the Leadership Principle. So if you pay close attention to what the interviewer is asking you and provide an answer specific to that- then inevitably you will find yourself talking about behaviours that are connected to that LP.
Hi GG!! I just wanted to say THANK YOU!!! I prepared myself with all your videos and your website articles and it has been the best decision ever! I passed all the interviews and I'm starting as an Amazonian on Monday! I can't be happier!! :) To all of you that are preparing interviews, I can only say, listen to GG and prepare yourself! If you work hard, you will see the results! Best of luck to everyone!
Thank you for sharing such valuable content GG! Question: I am currently a project manager and have taken about 10 projects from start to finish. If I shared two distinct scenarios from the same project (for example 1. Addressing an error mid way through the project and 2. Quality assurance of the final deliverable at the end of the same project) would my interviewers view that as repeating the same story? Any insights you can share would be very much appreciated!
Hey GG, I had a interview for Engineering manager role. in behavioural leadership functional round, in senarios if I gave scenarios based with too much of technical information related to my role. Would sharing too much of technical details in behavioural questions a negative impact ?
If I am being called for a bar raiser round then that means I have cleared all 3 previous technical rounds ? And how much probability I have to get selected if my bar raiser round goes well.. please respond today GG i have interview tomorrow?
I honestly don’t understand this statement. The Bar Raiser isn’t typically a round of its own. A bar raiser takes part in the final round (loop). It’s a single stage with multiple interviews and none of the interviews in that stage have any impact on subsequent interviews.
For the sr program manager Loop Interview, is it necessary to ask questions to the interviewer at the end of each round of loop interview? Is it good or bad
Watched a few of your vids (I watched other videos too, not just yours, but yours were among the most informative ones) , and got offered a grad SDE position in Ireland. Thanks for all the videos you made!
Hi GG, thank you for your videos they have been the #1 source for my interview prep and really helped me. After my loop interviews (this was for a specific role) I heard this from the recruiter- We did indeed have the debrief this morning. While the outcome is positive, we unfortunately were also able to fill our position with another candidate. This means that we would not be able to offer you the role at this time. I am checking with my colleagues for similar roles available within Amazon, but I wanted to make sure you were aware as soon as possible. I would normally have a call with you to discuss the outcome, however I will be out of the office for the 2 weeks and will need to delay our call until the end of September. This doesn’t specifically mention I have been added to a pool or priority list - how I just assume it’s rejection ? And worst part is the same happened to me after the screener round but they reached out a few days later after the candidate dropped the offer.
I have given my final interviews, it’s been i week but now response from recruiters I have sent one follow-up email as well, but no reply so far… Is there any specific email will come either rejected or select? How much time it takes ?

I received Virtual Interview invitation for Sr Program Manager Role(Non tech) after Phone screening which was conducted through Chime which was also a video interview. Will the upcoming virtual Interview also like the phone screening conducted through Chime asking behaviour questions or will it be different or something else should i expect?
Canceling my loop for tomorrow after two weeks of prep. The system is broken and only hires people that are good at lying, not who I want for coworkers. Also, what is the need for dragging out 3 separate interviews in one day? Amazon can’t coordinate getting 3 people together for one interview? There is not a single benefit to this. It’s all games. My time is more valuable.
They have interviews separately so that they don’t get influenced by each other in their initial assessment. The Amazon interview process and Amazon aren’t for everyone. Good luck in your future search.
A good watch, ty. I do have a shaky disease which is more obvious with anxiety. I should point out I don't need a special accommodation, do I follow the fess up advice and let each interviewer know at the start of my video interview?
@@amazoninterviewwhizzdayone503 Thank you, it is like your issue, I've been stressing over this question for weeks. Loop interviews tomorrow! Thank you again ❤
How do I interview who among my interviewers is a bar raiser? Secondly, I had a loop of 4 interviews. I know I did well in 3 but not in 1 due to communication issues. Will that singular interview affect me?
How To Recognise The Bar Raiser ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JrxXn5T1nic.html. 1 bad interview is unlikely to ruin your chances. Depending on how bad.
