I live really close, and it is such a good spot, so it's hard to drive past it. I fish Ft. Desoto a bit as well. I have some videos from there. I also try to get out to the shipping channel from the Piney Point launch, but haven't had a lot of luck there lately. Nice Snook!!!
Most of the guides I see out there are cool people. This guy wasn't a jerk or anything. He was trying to get his client's fish out of the structure, and after I gave him a heads up he turned the boat. A little close for comfort, but it worked out in the end.
Yup. On a Saturday morning there would have been five more boats and ten people wading. My biggest concern was the fish running right towards their trolling motor. Luckily the red stayed down on the bottom and the line didn't get cut.
The entire time I was watching, I was praying that wasn't going to be your "googan moment"....... Great video. Love that spot too... The water clarity looked pretty decent also....(with all the illegal spillage recently)
Yeah, I probably need some Ivermectin after spending a few hours in that muck, haha. Worth it though. I lost a couple other good fish being a googan, but that was by far the worst mistake I've ever made fishing.
Lol, i got a parking ticket for the same thing a few months ago. And i said the exact same thing as you, it doesnt make sense. Why make you pay to enter and pay to park
Those cormorants... careful of what you release in front of them. I figured it was too big for them to swallow it, but I was wrong. I released a 10" trout and that sucker slurped it down. No idea where it put it.
You have some great videos on your channel brother! Wish I could be on the water often enough to make videos. I will be down that way for 4 days with the fam the middle of June and plan on getting some early morning wade fishing in at fort desoto at least one morning. Unfortunately all 4 mornings are high tide so I’ll have to pick the right spot. Keep the great videos coming!!! Liked and subscribed!!!
I go to the southeast end of Fort Desoto and usually have good luck. I just cast net for whatever bait is out there. I think that is the trick to getting consistent bites.
I was out there Friday or saturday I think I seen ya I started out where you launched then moved to the south Pier. I got lots of trout but no red. I'll be dropping a video next week.
