Thanks for making the video. I’m changing my straps right now. I have been dealing with the D ring straps for over 3 years. In every condition and with one broken hand at some point. Very informative video.
I will say I like the straps but after a few years they have broken down from the sun and wind and need to be replay. They are however much faster and easier to deal with so I will be changing them with the same ones.
I have a 2012 ram 3500. It got stuck in 4 th gear. I changed the shift solenoid. Code p0750. It ran good the next day on my way to work it went to 4 th again. I got a p0871 code. I reset the check engine light, and drove home fine, but should I change the transmission fluid pressure switch?
As much as I would love to give advice I will first say I am not a mechanic. My personal opinion would be to take it to a transmission shop. The 3500 transmission is different than my 2500 transmission. It could have a complete different reason for its issues including the programming.
Thanks for this video. My 2018 2500 threw the code wiith the same symptoms. How has the Revmax Valve Body and Solenoid held up? Have you had any other transmission issues?
I am happy to say that since that day everything has been great. Doing this and the gear changes on the axles have been some of the best upgrades for sure.
Used to be called the MX + but I don't know if they still sell on Amazon. The alpha obd app is compatible with other Bluetooth ones however. Check out their website
Get rid of the music. I’ve never been to a class where the instructor turned on elevator music while teaching. Maybe because it’s distracting and offers nothing to the subject.
hello i am getting the same code po871 and po733 and po700 i keep turning the codes off they keep coming back it stop going in 3rd and 4th i changed the transmission it work for about 30 mins and it started back doing it all over again it will not go in 3rd or 4th again what can i do to fixed this i got a new pcm/tcm and 2 speed sensors and a pvs andit workfor a day and it started back again ....can you help me my truck is a 2004 dodge dakota 4 door SLT 4.7 trand is a 545rfe 2wd ..
I'm am not a mechanic. I wish that I could help but unfortunately I can only suggest to go to a professional or see if you happen to be able to Google the issue.
Have you have any problems with this one you bought off of Amazon? Im a little uneasy buying car parts off Amazon but ill be saving a couple hundred dollars
Thankfully I have not had any issues. I understand the concern as there are a lot of bad products out there. It has been working since I replaced the part
Hey bud can you post a link to the app you’re using. Mine tells me to download OBDLink but it’s completely different than yours. I would appreciate it very much!
I purchased the older version of this one. Mine was not the plus. Then I used alpha obd from the android app store. OBDLink MX+ OBD2 Bluetooth Scanner for iPhone, Android, and Windows a.co/d/2tbk2io
I’m about to do this with my 17. does it solve the shift flare as well? And mine only throws that code when I cold start and throw it into gear right away before letting it idle for a min
So you’re saying if you have a grey connector; you can use a white one. But what if I have a white connector, can I use a grey one? What’s the difference and have you had any problems? Thanks bro!
City Diesel sells and has sold a self-calibrating actuator that fits multiple turbos. I got theirs for $900 for my 2013 Ram 3500 (HE300VG turbo) and never looked back. Bolts and seals, coolant, back on the road in 2 hours, start to finish.
I haven't watched the video yet. Read the comments and mine is basically in the same boat. I would greatly appreciate any help as mu truck is a huge part of my livelihood and been down for 4 months now. How did you determine what part(s) failed? 2018 Dodge Ram 2500 6.7 Cummins 4WD 68RFE Automatic Transmission-Won't move either direction Codes P0871, P281F, and P2706 The 0871 is consistent and it started last year after I way overfilled the trans when I changed the fluid and filters. 281f and 2706 have set randomly maybe 2 or 3 times. Before this situation of no movement, if I don't BARELY ease down onto throttle it will slam into I think 3rd gear and won't go any higher until I turn truck off and it immediately resets. It does it the most when pulling something. It will downshift when I stop at a light or something. Then when I start moving again it won't shift up until almost 3k rpms, and when it does, it hits extremely hard. One of those other codes (2706 I think) it gets stuck in fourth gear and shows it on my display like I'm manually shifting. It won't shift up or down or anything it will stay in 4th gear. But whenever I turn the truck off or anything it resets it, still has the codes but it resets and runs fine for a while or a little bit sometimes. Sometimes it comes right back or whatever. I can clear the codes but they come back as soon as does that first hard shift and stays in third gear or whatever. I need some troubleshooting and/repair procedures if anyone has any access to this info. Hopefully, it's just a blocked valve or something small versus and blown transmission.🤞🏼
I am not a mechanic but to be honest mine was pretty simple to trouble shoot. I knew it was the shift solenoid from the beginning. I had a past vehicle (different brand & model) do the same thing mine did which was give me a hard shift then basically lock itself in 3rd or 4th gear limp mode. When it happened to me on the freeway the first thing I did was get home and stop driving the truck until I got the parts. I didn't really need to purchase a Valve body but figured since I was already going to be in there and taking it out that it would be safe insurance for the future of the transmission. Once I pulled the pan down and saw nothing on the magnet I felt some relief and it was only re-enforced by looking at the stock valve body and not seeing any cracks. The P0871 and the P2706 seem to point towards the shift solenoid but that P281F seems to be something different. To be honest most of the time these vehicles have the same issue and you can basically google them based on vehicle year and type. Wish you the best of luck. sorry to hear you are having trouble.
Should it be ‘4.10’ or ‘4.100’? Wonder if it matters. The factory setting was ‘3.420’ leading one to believe it should be inputted with 3 digits after the decimal.
6Truck i bought 8 months ago popped that code... Just serviced it and its been good since. Valve body is on the list.. but i have couple big ticket items for my business im buying this year so the damn transmission needs to wait its turn lol.
The module usually does the trick. I just did the vb to help keep it strong. One day will do the torque converter and then back to the engine with a new turbo set up. All in time
You need the bluetooth adapter and the software on your phone or computer. I would check their website to see if it is compatible with your year truck. www.alfaobd.com/index.html
