What could be nicer than seeing the world from above like a bird!? I've been flying RC airplanes since I was a child (now I am over 40 years old) and at some point I started flying RC 3D helicopters. After a break of almost 12 years, I have the FPV drone/quad in 2024 and here I am now. A man who wants to fly like a bird and share it with you. @@BigKahunaFPV Great to know this. I am about to get into FPV and am torn between the Pocket and the Boxer for my 1st radio. I really adore the portability of the Pocket but that 1 watt on the Boxer is also alluring. Was wondering whether 250mW is enough for your kind of long range. Thanks
What analog googles are you using, because I‘m looking forward to buy the Geprc Tern lr 40 analog? Would you even recomment the geprc tern lr 40 for beginners? (Love your videos👌)
@@BigKahunaFPV Sorry for asking that many Questions but you‘re basically the only one that flies the tern lr 40 often. Does it have a beginner mode to get into fpv and then later you could swap to acro mode or does it just have acro mode?
@@vrey_on_console The quad is set up via betaflight and there you can use the Angel Mode or Horizon Mode, these two modes are basically assisted flying.The best thing to do is to watch a few RU-vid videos, this is not specific to Kurt but to all those that can be configured via betaflight. What a great flight! I find this to be very relaxing with beautiful scenery. I too have flown down in the 1-2 Mbps video and kept flying, the last time I did that I was approx 9 miles away but then I pushed a bit and it actually came back up, almost to double digits at 10 miles before I turned around. You may already know this but 50hz will get you more range with some latency of course but for long range it sure is great. That being said, you didn’t have problems with your radio so probably not even needed. Again, great flight!

I'm lazy and afterwards I forget to change it🤣🤣. @@BigKahunaFPV I get that. For the longest time I forgot to change but now it’s become habit for me. It’s a bit funny but when I do some long cinematic flying people comment on how nice it is and I think it “was okay” as well. Funny how that seems to be for us flyers in our own areas. You've made me fall in love! Some of your footage is awesome. Digital is amazing, but I couldn't afford that option so went analog. Do you have any footage from your dark days of analog?
@@rohanspector387 I actually have that, if you watch one or two videos before you will find an analog video of the Tern LR40. Otherwise I currently have an Air65 video. But I have relatively cheap E800DM goggles,the DVR quality is not particularly good. Best regards

@@ghettorecording2925 That's exactly what I thought 👍. I think ISO 100 isn't that good for Gyroflow, the results were better with ISO Auto. I definitely wanted to test 2.7k/60fps. For freestyle, the camera is really an alternative solution, you save weight and the camera is relatively affordable. Best regards
@@BigKahunaFPV oldguyFPV; I just leave everything on auto, 2.7K/60, nd32 filter (no jello), normal color, #nostab, render in 4K! Works for me! I luv the Runcam Thump Pro V2, build a bullet proof housing for it. Wore out 1, lost 1, using 1 now and 2 new ones on the shelf. Haven't broke one yet! 90 bucks, it doesn't get any better than that.
@@BigKahunaFPV its an upgrade energy 4000 mah pack that’s 206 grams so about the same as a 3000mah nav series. Did you see any increase in efficiency or flight time with the 3 blade props?
hi. Is shot on o3? I suggest you can try to use ND filters with manual shutter like 1/60 for 30fps in order to avoid artifacts with auto shutter. btw how to do you got permission to flight there? or it was not required?
@@g-fpv-911 Hello and thank you for the tip, important mainly in automatic settings. Often times I upload complete flights and then it makes more sense because the lighting conditions often change.If I use a separate camera then it is of course a completely different matter. Best regards
Nice flight! I couldn’t agree more with your choice of the Gemfan Hurricane 4023 tri-blade props. I just love flying with them on my Tern LR40. I was going to say I couldn’t see any jello in the video. I believe these props really do a good job of reducing vibration without too much reduction in flight time over the bi-blade props. I’ve noticed they are quite flexible making them durable in a collision. If you look at them in the sunlight their profile changes somewhat as you increase throttle. They seem to flatten out, wonder if this dynamic behavior with RPM is what makes them fly so well. Anyway thanks again for the video!
@@markbosold4050 Hi, in the description I wrote that I flew the bi-blade propellers during the flight and I could definitely perceive a lot more vibrations in the goggles. While editing the video, I noticed some jello here and there, but it was still acceptable.After this flight I immediately reinstalled the Gemfan Hurricane and they are staying on.Interestingly, I also noticed the durability; after one or two crashes, I was even able to straighten the propellers and carry on flying without any problems.The nice thing is simply the versatility and to be honest I can't see any shorter flight time, quite the opposite, if you do long range flights and are in the lower throttle range in my opinion the Gemfan Hurricane are more efficient.
