Light-hearted videos of our Farmstead Lifestyle in Rural Thailand. Porpeang is a diverse farm home to about 70 goats, thousands of Australian Red Claw Crayfish, and a Fishing Lake for our Farmstay Guests.
Our farm is organic, no-till, no burn & focuses on sustainable, regenerative agriculture techniques. This includes making our own biochar & integrated livestock systems to help improve & create fertile soil.
Every day, we step closer to our goal of leading a self-sufficient life.
We live off-grid, with power coming from a solar system & water from a borehole. Hot showers are heated by our compost pile!
We also publish content about life in Thailand, places to visit, fishing, foraging & lots more.

Always nice to see Keira and Cameron on the farm :D I watched the video with my younglings before bedtime. They were very excited to see them. Keira kept trying to spot Keira through the entire video! !
Also, I want to build my goat house 2.2 meters above ground. I’m 6’3”. I think chickens could be house under the goats floor also. Thoughts please, if you have time. Give our love to the mrs and the children.
You could integrate the two together. The goat floor would ideally need to be a bit higher off the ground than ours for easier access to the chickens. They'd also need a few roof sheets above them to keep the goats from peeing on them at night.
No way is that Kai Muk 😮😮 forgive me if the joke went over my head!! Good to see the herd thinning out, hopefully less work running around feeding them. Great to see you all again, all the best 😊
Thanks Mark Mark, as you know, it's been a lonnnnnnng road back. Hopefully the market will eventually recovery fully & Toon and myself can get more time on the karaoke 🎤🎤🎤
How you remember all their bloody names is beyond me Leigh 🙄I had a job remembering the callout of the firemen on Trumpton 🤦♂Lovely seeing you all including the Goats 😊
The house can take 70 (that's a mix of ages.) Bucklings, we can hold about 25 in the old house near the farmhouse. Food wise, somewhere near 100 at the moment. That hopefully will increase massively soon as we're planning to convert the pasture areas over to Moringa and Leucaena. The plan is to stop leaving the farm for additional fodder.
Always enjoy an update on the herd,, always a shame to see some go 🙈 but “damn” there’s some quality Nannies left 🤣 sounds abit odd saying that 😆 Great to see Kai Muk doing a fantastic job, bloody hell she’s growing by the second 😂
Thanks Chris. Always a bittersweet day selling off some herd members that have been with us for several years. It's much better in their house at night now there's a bit more room. Thor is great at going into his own room, which helps loads.
Yes Lucky doesn't mix well with the other herd members which makes it a bit tricky at the moment. Alas, video camera issues (again) has meant a drop-off in production.
Hey Leigh, another weekend for me in the million-acre cat box so I stopped in. We got the fence and a well on our property in Thailand so were taking baby steps. Always a good psychological pick me up to give you a watch. I hope you got at least 1.21 Gigawatts of power for your farm but I recommend that Toon keeps the Moto under 88 mph from here on out.
That's great to hear things are progressing for you mate. Twins Keira & Cameron make a brief appearance in our next video. It'll be published later today.
Completely off grid now? You're gluttons for punishment. All you have on your plate already... Well, some people like a little daily struggle to conquer :)
Twizzilee thing & Waffling ??? So many other odd words I heard you speak as well... hmmm. Seeing as I'm from Canada, I don't quite understand fully your freaky deekey version of British English? Perhaps as a curtesy, you could begin placing subtitles on your videos for Clarities sake. Even though I don't know who Clarity is, I'm sure she would agree with me. Just Sayin :)
You've got something on your right glasses lens. It's a little white spot and I can't quit looking at it. Then, I realized you were blinking a lot with your right eye. So, wipe it off!
@@ToonLeighporpeangfarmThailand Believe it or not, I'm coming down this year. Going to kick some butt in the fishing derby, going to bring Toon a new weapon to kick your butt in fishing and a ping pong table. I've got special paddles for Toon and special paddles for you and me. Let the beer flow freely and the ping pong keep us up all night.....😎🤕🤕🤔
@@ToonLeighporpeangfarmThailand Well, tell her I believe she would stick me with that needle if I didn't bring gifts down when I visit... I'll be down this year. I'm actually ready now to catch a fish at Porpang farm. You know, something I've never done before.... Tell her I love her, stay safe and be ready to play some ping pong......
@@markbrooke4100 you should be singing along to them while you're tapping away on your computer. Regarding Frozen, it's really not for me to say, but I personally think my version is better than the original 😂
Apparently so mate. Thankfully, the lake and ponds are doing better this year than any other dry season. This coming rainy season we'll be adjusting our lake overflow pipe to hold back more water.
@@ToonLeighporpeangfarmThailand If it's anything like here, the solar will be the back up. Quite often goes out in a storm Got a feeling it's going to be another heavy rainy season.☔☔☔
That cost to get the electrical installation done is amazing. I would hate to tell you what comparable in the UK would cost...great job to change your life really.
Absolutely Darryl, we were both pleasantly surprised when we found out. The guys who did the install are full-time employees of PEA. Always a bonus to get qualified electricians lol.
Amazing mate....good to see you have reliable power...oh the air conditioning!...hope u have a good cool down room...no worries on all that debris...you'll manage...it can all be used for something as you know...and yeah that's quite a laugh the way all those logs are laying about after the cuts...lol...and indeed the power bill is a concern...we focused on trying to find one product on the farm that's sale is dedicated to the power bill fund such as the fish ponds....maybe you can carve out part of a homestay fee and dedicated it to a power bill fund...just keep it going on a budget schedule....anyway...good on ya's...we'll have to stop by some time now that you have power...lol
We we're spending 300tbh per month on ice cubes & ice blocks. Now we make all that we need. Can't see the bill being any more than that seen as we don't have AC installed.
@@ToonLeighporpeangfarmThailand 300...sounds good!...we were 500 for one meter and about 3500 for the other....lol...but that's all my power tools and welder etc...and of course aircons....so it sounds like you can now have a small aircon installed...!....go for it!...lol
