Hi, Welcome to Intentional Homeschooler here on RU-vid! 🇵🇭 My name is Lorrain and I'm a homeschooling mom. I made one of the most challenging decisions in my life when I decided to homeschool my daughter who is now a preschooler. ✅ Our goal is to help intentional parents begin their homeschooling journey. ✅ In this channel, you will find weekly homeschooling tips, product reviews, and day in the life videos to help you navigate your homeschooling lifestyle. ✅ You will also find tutorial videos on how you can intentionally teach your kids using the Montessori approach. I believe that children are born with innate ability to learn on their own but need us to be their guide. With an observant attitude, good intentions and a supportive community, homeschooling should be fun and not stressful. Hi! I’m starting to homeschool my son using the Montessori method and I’m in the process of setting up my shelf. How is yours organized? I obviously can’t buy everything at once, so I’m trying to get together the things he needs now one by one!
Hi Summer! You can check out my video about Basic Montessori Shelf. In that video, I share our basic montessori shelf setup and what to put in your shelf, I shared the 6 essential subject areas to have in your montessori shelf and I also explain why you need trays.
I heard that when first teaching the letters that you group them like "mstr" or something like that and not the typical "abc" way. Is this true...and if so what are the grouping sequence to start out with?
Hi. Thanks for your question. There are few "Montessori ways" to introduce letters to a toddler. Grouping certain consonants and vowels together allows children to quickly form as many words as possible when learning the letter sounds. Order suggested in How to Raise an Amazing Child the Montessori Way by Tim Seldin: First set: c m a t Second set: s r i p Third set: b f o g Fourth set: h j u l Fifth set: d w e n Sixth set: k q v x y z. Hope this will help you.
Hi. Thanks for your question. 🙂 You can check out planet montessori cebu. I’ve updated the description of this video and placed the link so it leads you to their instagram acct. 🙂
That's great, Teacher Hope! I'm sure it will help the community as many don't want to spend money buying materials. A lot of homeschoolers wants to DIY. :)
So true. I am currently completing my Montessori course. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic I cant be physically present in my assigned praticum school. We are doing the class virtually, the new normal way. :)
Thanks for watching, homeschoolers! 😊 What do you think about this setup? 🤔 let me know in the comments... AND what other topics would you like watch in the future videos? 🧐
@Mildred Carabio Thanks for your question! :) Usually you can start around 2.5 to 3 years old but you can assess your child. You can change the activities based on their level. If you're applying the Montessori approach, I recommend having activities for the 5 subjects... 1. Practical Life 2. Sensorial 3. Math 4. Language 5. Culture and Science Hope this helps. :)
