Thanks for sharing the video! I was excited to download the audio and scene file to try on my system, but the download of the audio stops every time about 2/3 of the way through. It would be super useful to have if I can get my system to play it through the mixer. I'm learning to use the MR18 and don't have any tracks for practice and testing etc. Is there any reason you can think of that's causing the download to stall? I get about 250 MB's each time and it stops. I tried the download using both Safari and Chrome. Thanks.
Sorry I have no ideal why the download quits. The file is hosted by Cambridge Audio maybe they have a problem. Check out the library there are over 600 songs. Hopefully some other download will work. cambridge-mt.com/ms/mtk/
Hi, thanks for your videos... I think I saw that the channel only function doesn't work, forcing you to mute other tracks... this happens to me too, I understand why it doesn't work in my editor... thanks !!
Hi, thanks for your videos... I think I saw that the channel only function doesn't work... I also don't understand why it doesn't work in my editor... thanks!!
(SOLVED) I did everything exactly the same as shown in this video, but there was no communication between the two devices, the midi lights on the controller even flash quickly, but the faders do not synchronize with the xr18, I alternated the order of the midi cables (in/out), I restarted both devices and still nothing resolved. I tried via usb mode, but Mac m1 is not compatible, I think.
@@thomasziegler2303 My bad, in my case one of my midi cables was faulty, after fixing that the controller worked perfectly. Thanks for the help and video.
You can only record the effects of each track like Gate, Compressor, EQ. This will be configured in the USB send section by selecting not Input but instead Pre Fader. If you are not using all 18 Channels you can also send an effect return to USB instead of 2 channels this is configurable in the USB send routing section. I hope this answer helps.
Sehr fein gezeigt.
That is a problem of my recording setup. Something was wrong in the routing to the PC. In the headphone I could hear the solo. In the next video I will try to fix that.
@@thomasziegler2303 This is AWESOME! For this issue, try going to Routing (In/Out) and then the Main Out tab. Assuming you are recording the Main output, remove any routing assignment for Main L/R and instead, route Monitor to both Main and Phones. The Solo buttons should then work in headphones and in the Main output. I don't think there are any problems with doing this in this sort of application. For a live show... might be iffy having those Solo buttons floating around. Idk... let me know if I'm getting this totally wrong. Or if anyone likes to have access to Solo buttons while doing a show.
I have used sidechain to better control the gate. In my case each channel is side chained to itself. The side chain is set to a frequency where the specific instrument has the most energy. Now the gate only listens to the side chain and opens or closes depending on the set frequency. To my feeling this gives better control on the gate compared to the gate listening to all the stuff of this channel. This technique only makes sense on instruments that only have a limited freqency range. Drums are perfect because it is constant frequency spectrum. I hohe this explaination helps.
Since the combinator is inserted, wouldn’t you still have to pull the fader to 0? Or just leave it down. Would anything happen if you did pull it to 0 dB? On fx 4.
Hi Frank, as you can see I use Ardour on Linux and I love it. I did not have a chance to try Mixbus yet. Curretly I'm recording tracks my own band. Maybe I will post some mix videos with those recordings when they are finished.
@@thomasziegler2303 Hi oops yes it is Ardour, a great underrated DAW. I'm on Linux, ubuntu studio for years. I'll send you a link if possible to my music. Cheers 😀
I think this virtual soundcheck works best if the same mics and same distance of the mics to their sources with the audio source of the previous event and the current band setup. Because if not, it will sound different in the actual concert. Unless there is an actual soundcheck when the band members are present already.
Den Combinator füge ich immer in die Summe ein um den Sound etwas dichter zu machen. Ich habe auch den Eindruck, das der Mix dadurch etwas aufgeräumter wird. Ich hoffe das macht Sinn, ist aber meine Refahrung.
Just a tip, always use the fastest possible attack on gate. If you use few ms, it will cut off a portion of transient -> which is not good at all for percussive instruments.
@@BuiltRiteTrans if you want less punch, then yes by all means use more attack on a gate. in most cases if you want punchy drums, you need more of the transient - less of attack.
@@thomasziegler2303 I liked it so well, when I found a Midas M32R, I bought it used, and bought a 16 ch stage box to go with it since the X-Air is not expandable. Now selling my Analog mixers.
