A podcast that explores the connection between the mental health and performance of guests as they join me to discover more about their limitations, struggles and successes.
If I were to listen to this podcast a couple of years ago, I would’ve probably skipped. Being in my late twenties and listening to this, brings me so much insight and inspiration. Well done. 👏🏻
Soy products contain estrogen-like chemicals that could have adverse effects. So, stay away from soy isoflavone supplements and foods made with textured vegetable protein and soy protein isolate, found in many protein powders and nutrition bars.
Circumstantially, a diet that includes meat is great and I myself eat meat in a balanced diet. As in Lauryn's case, if you feel particularly strongly about animal welfare, eating meat is a real challenge mentally and she is proof that it isn't essential for elite performance.
@@mindsets_podcast I understand that some people find it hard to eat meat, given their love for animals. That's an unfortunate barrier. As for a "balanced diet", there's really no such thing. The human body does not need plant foods, and it certainly doesn't need carbohydrates. There isn't a single essential carbohydrate - not one. Our food pyramid is completely upside down. The way meat has been demonised is shocking. A meat only diet is the best and most efficient route to optimal health. Oh, and nice podcast, by the way. Lauryn comes across really well. I'm sure this podcast will grow and become successful :)
I found stud dents in the side of my head one morning. I went straight home to bed, no pub, tucked up by 6pm. Didn’t remember much about after the game, getting home or anything. From what I could piece together, I was stamped on in a ruck. I miss rugby, but I am 39 and I know that one more game could be another life changing injury and my future with my kids means more than the thrill of the game with the boys.
@@mindsets_podcast I was shit at the sport and had some horrific injuries from season one to season last. Fucking loved it, but I know I have (hopefully) another 40/50 years of being a cripple to consider, and I want that time to be spent in as minimal pain with maximum brain capacity as is still possible with just 30 years of abuse and concussions.
really enjoyed this, massive eye opener and a great insight into addiction and ADHD. Josh should be immensely proud of his resilience and his constant advocation for life for unselfish reasons, I wish him all the best for the future.
really interesting that Josh found he could drink more while medicated. I've been on medication since I was 6, so I don't really know the difference between being medicated or not, other people can. but I tend to not really be aware. I also wouldn't know what my un-medicated alcohol tolerance would be like.
A very interesting and informative watch. Thank you both for sharing your chat and your experiences.. It is so good to see Josh being able to talk about his past freely and comfortably. if it helps just one other person it's a good job done..we'll done guys 😊
