Is there an easier way to unlock songs? I've got to a point where I can't progress through the career and can't unlock/buy more songs from the shop. But I recall a long while back that I've played Love is Orange and Daikenkai and had them unlocked
I still get sad when I watch this because it's still a farewell to the original DDR's soul. The game may have returned, but it's never been the same since.
As a Dreamcast owner back in the day, you don't know how much I wish this could have been released outside of Japan. I definitely would have bought it.
Fun fact: All CHALLENGE-only remixes use their original version's banner/background when played in their course. Their proper banner and background was first used in EXTREME arcade.
Just dug out my old ass PS2 to play this, and man does the nostalgia hit hard. I even managed to dig out the eye toy camera to play the exclusive hands and feet mode as well!
In the same manner as DS Fever PS1, why does this port exist? As a poor man's alternative for those who don't have PS2 or can't afford that version? How funny the difficulty ratings rate up to 10 but PARANOIA Survivor is not included here so it's a waste. I'm surprised they didn't borrow the 5thMIX engine. It could have benefitted from 50fps.
Growing up, I had a PSone with games like DDR Konamix. I only bought a PS2 in 2016. Prior to that, I would have appreciated NTSC versions of EuroMix, Fusion and even Fever. I can buy the games I want, and enjoy extra songs without spending too much.
Incidentally SWEET SWEET ♡ MAGIC was marked a new song even though it appeared in a previous game: Dancing Stage MegaMix. It should have been in the yellow section.
Someone made a comment that I declimed. See the warning screen "THIS GAME IS FOR SALE AND USE IN U.S.A. ONLY". Even the frequency NTSC-U, "U" stands for U.S.A. I don't care if you availed this game in "North America" but the warning screen and frequency tells, its general so "U.S.A." version
This appears after completing a Nonstop course, or after failing Extra Stage. The three characters selected are random, and taken from all characters and costumes available, even if not unlocked yet.
If only KONAMI of USA delayed the exposure of "RHYTHM AND POLICE [K.O.G G3 Mix]" here then debuted later on "DDR EXTREME2", its gonna be a "K.O.G G3 MIX" Dancemania party with "BOOM BOOM DOLLAR" and "BRILLIANT 2U"
@@dancervic oh wow i didn't think about those things, yea imo they coulda brought more 5th Mix songs to tha US DDRMAX as well or heck even tha Ultramix series coulda used it aside from Moonlight Shadow
I feel like EXTREME2/DS Max were some of the best DDR games on the PS2 in their respective regions. Really nice mix of licensed tracks and Konami originals.
OMG never thought u do a vid of my very 1st DDR game :D nice to see u back also if u ever decide to do tha songlist to DDR Ultramix 1-4 u can still get tha DLCs of all Ultramix DLCs but now it can only be done if u do a softmod of ur OG XBOX sadly but anyways back to DDR Extreme 2, it's my humble beginnings and proud to have DDR Extreme 2 as my 1st DDR game i got my start at and possibly tha best US DDR mix ever still
Oh your profile picture 😁. Agree. The best USA PS2 version in terms of Licensed song content. Majority are from "Dancemania SPEED" series. The only missing "K.O.G G3 MIX" here was "RHYTHM AND POLICE"
because that was only a location test/beta song. That Licensed song was scrapped and removed in this official/Final release. Then the next version DDR 1.5, Konami's "MAKE IT BETTER" says "Got No Money"
Yes in terms EU version and no at the same time 'cos "SuperNOVA" was not exclusive to EU anymore and the start of "worldwide" release. European (DS) then USA (DDR) then JAPAN then lastly Asian versions
