cucumbers are a no go for me this year. germination was shocking, and what did grow was ate. my own fault. i should have covered them..................brian
watched your video the other day and forgot to reply. Elephant Garlic and Hard Neck Garlic have scapes. Soft Neck Garlic does not. You harvest the soft neck earlier than the others but it stores better than the others. Shame about your tomatoes just finished planting my San Marzane and Roma Tomatoes will be planting some outdoors soon
Good to see you back Barry. Garlic is coming along nicely. Just work on one area at a time and you will be well organised. Cheers my friend. 🩷🤗🤗🦘🦘👍👍Cheryl
We are growing some of the same varieties. You’ll have to keep us updated on rebel starfighter prime. I’ve found it really spindly and pathetic! What will you use all the baths for? I don’t have an allotment, just a garden I’ve made into a teeny allotment x
Hi thanks for the comment the bath's were on the plot when I took the plot on about 20 year ago 2 of them a will try and use as worm bins the others a would quite happily get rid of 💚
i just got out of hospital yesterday, after a painful 12 days. the first thing i did this morning was take a look in the polytunnel. i shouldn't really be surprised but everything has really took off. i expect the same with your tomatos once you put them in deeper soil. those strawberry planters look the business, marra....................brian
i spent yet more time in hospital a couple of months ago, and lost most of my peppers. the tomatos eventually germinated so i'll be having a late crop this year. i can't rely on my family to help. i don't understant why more gardeners don't grow late potatoes in a tower of pots. they are indeterminate. because i can't get to the rest of my pots i'll probably stay at 2 high, but i think youre onto a winner with 4 pots high. just build up ther compost gradually as the plants grow. keep the videos coming, marra.....................brian
Yes! That Spud Tower Challenge is a belting idea! I'm going to do the same. Although I''m not sure whether my spuds are Determinate or Indeterminate. I've planted Java Main Crops in some 50ltr tubs which I can build up.
@@TheBeginnerGardener not 100% sure to be honest a know king Edward's are indeterminate basic rule a think is earlys and mids tend to be determinate but a reckon Google will be of help👍
Hi, new sub here so looking forward to catching up 😊 Gutted about the blight you had! 😕 Best of luck with this years season. Lovely size poly tunnel. Thanks for sharing Rach 🌱🐝🌸
Hi Cher sorry a haven't been about much kinda mislaid my mojo for gardening and unlike you struggle with the editing,wasn't going to bother with chillies at all this year with wasting all of last year's but decided only 3 types was only going to be the two pineapple aji for a fermented sauce (nice idea for a video for you) and the type a like to eat pickled but the company a got the mammoth jalapeno from also sent me some free sugar Rush peach Stripey so have but one of the in also lol ;<}
@@uncle870 Yeah, missed your videos Barry, kept an eye out for ya. As I am the only one who eats chillis in my household I have only grown this one and just an ordinary chilli, with my new chopper I got I can now just chopped them up and freeze them and just use them in my own dishes. I will have a look at the fermented sauce( usually I never know how long they are meant to last before they go off) .You have so much potential in your allotment Barry, Perhaps you can divide it up into 10 sections and just work on one section sorting and organising each week/month . You will have it sorted by the end of the year,.🤗🤗💖💖🦘🦘👍👍😀😀Cheryl

All the hard work is worth it to me to get to see the new growth everyday it brings me so much joy! I’m starting to harvest some fruits and veggies. I still have so much to learn and I appreciate your tips, tricks! Please Keep sharing! I would love to learn more about gardening from each other.
alreet marra. i was fed up with break-ins when i had my plot. i wanted to leave some serious traps but it's not allowed. instead i used to lay 3 rakes down with the prongs pointed up. they worked once that i know of.................brian
Aye Brain what ya like lol was me awn fault really that bad storm we had before Christmas completely wiped out the top fence (4by4 posts snapped clean off at ground level) and a wasn't able to replace it till Fran came along one day and offered to help. Talking of traps a could tell you a few horra stories of this actually garden when a was knee high to a grass hoppa but not sure how many would believe us lol
First time i just tried to grow spuds and found that mole crickets were gnawing on them underground. I like your green house. Look forward to the future tour.
Complete failure marra mostly on my part had back problems and couldn't get along enough and with the very hot and dry weather last year went watered enough
