Imagine living in what was condisered the most powerful and stable place on Earth, then suddenly a massive force of people unlike ever seen before, alien in appearance and tongue, coming like a swarm and obliterating everything, leaving nothing behind in its wake like a plague of locust on a field. That, I imageine, was the sense people of Europe felt with the Huns and it must have been an reality-shaking moment that would leave no doubt that the end was here.
There were two Hun empires, the first was Mete Khan's Asian Hun empire, and the second was Attila's European Hun empire. Attila is the head of the Western Hun Turks. Possibly today's Hungarian nation was from the lineage of Attila. Attila, who spread fear in the Roman Empire, has reflexes close to the Central Asian culture in terms of war tactics and principles. Therefore, Attila is a Hun Turk.
Hungarians have nothing to do with Atilla or the huns, but just like them where a Turkic people came from almost the same region like most of the steppe people, they just tooked the name and btw they came as vassals of the Avars and by that time called Oghuz Turks or Oguz (western branch turks)....and that was far later...and if you read the Chinese chronicles you may have a hint.
Huns came from Asia and are descendants of Xiongnun. Chinese sources write Huns as Turks. Their war tactics, their clothes, their face masks, they all match with Turks. If you are ignorant, what can Turks do?
@@ruzgar1903BJK xiongnu/great hunnic empire have absolute 0 thing to do with turkey. Their leader Modu Chanyu/ Mete Khan have 0 to do with ppl in "turkey"
@@military0f21stcentury2 oh really? The First Turkic Khaganate, also referred to as the First Turkic Empire, the Turkic Khaganate or the Göktürk Khaganate, was a Turkic khaganate established by the Ashina clan of the Göktürks in medieval Inner Asia under the leadership of Bumin Qaghan (d. 552) and his brother Istämi A study of 75 individuals from various parts of Turkey concluded that the "genetic structure of the mitochondrial DNAs in the Turkish population bears some similarities to Turkic Central Asian populations". The first Turkic tribe to leave their name in history is the Huns. Their first known homeland was modern Mongolia; their name appears in Chinese historical documents as Hiung-nu. The Hiung-Nus lived in the 8th century B.C. along the Yellow River (Hoang Ho), and posed a continually increasing threat to the Chinese.
Jesus this track fills me with so much dread. Even after all this time. It haunts me like no other total war battle music does… especially if you’ve chosen to be Christian. The Hunnic horse archers absolutely shred infantry. The only thing that has ever worked for me is a controlled retreat where I make them fight multiple waves of troops before a last stand at the town center. I almost always win but the casualties are frightening. And god help you if another stack is waiting to attack.
@Ilovelanguages yes, they have same words but Mongols have more words with turkic people(kazakhs, uzibeks etc).turkish is anatolian arabs, greeks and persians.Turkic,Tungus,Mongol languages have many similar words.
Gosh I would have loved to be a Hun! Someone you don’t like? Tie up their feet drag them behind you ride out. See how long they survive. The rockier, the better!
He calls the Turks Greeks and Persians, not knowing that Greek genetics are preserved only on a small peninsula. Turks in Turkey have 41% Gokturk genetic heritage and over 70% Oguz Turk heritage, outside the region where Kurds live. Native Anatolian genetics do not exceed 25%. There are many Turkic tribes that migrated from Europe to Anatolia after the collapse of the European Huns. I also have high European Hun gene similarity.
@@sythe5579 Everything you wrote is garbage and also already proven false by modern DNA statistics. Modern turks in Turkey barely have 20% and the further West you go towards Istanbul, that percentage becomes less and less until it hits 0%. Finally I am not a Turk, but keep coping.
@@catholicracialist776 the term "Mongol" was used in the 18th century and doesn't point to an ethnicity but to a dynasty. You likely mean Tatars who where a confederation of different peoples, mostly Turkic and Mongolic speaking but also Iranian and other

No you Ignorant. Attila and the Huns are Turkic. The Mongols were not the only nation in the steppes. The history of the Turks in the steppes is much longer and earlier than the Mongols.@@Orgil.
