Hello Ping, I think just ran into you at the house in St Paul for my first lesson with Jeff in a long time. So nice to see him accompany you dancing with such fluidity and flow in relation to the music. And oh, I saw you did a video with Gary Snyder. Wow! I read his book many years ago called "The Practice of the Wild." I was already a radical ecologist, (Gary inspired me to be even more so). I also built my own net zero solar home in Minneapolis 8 years ago, that I told Jeff about during the lesson in back when I saw the solar panels on the house. I also benignly stole a Buddhist prayer of thanks from one of Gary's books that I still have and recite at times when my "Christian" friends ask me to do a meal blessing... Thank you for this! I started reading Gary 30 years ago. In periods of lull, I will look him up to see if he has gone deep. To my great splendor, he just turned 94 this year. Love you Mr. Snyder, much the same I love my family.
Thank you for these interviews. I love the poetry of Gary Snyder. It’s funny to watch these you can tell he dosnt like to answer the question lol or wants to subvert the question but I learned a lot. And you have such an interesting upbringing also. I enjoy learning about the people of China and I think everyone has a lot to learn about each other

I heard Gary read at St Mark's Church in NYC in 1972 or thereabouts. He read his poem about Blue-jays. It was really different from the other poets who read there. Came from a different world. And I made a special trip to Cleveland to see the Rivers and Mountains scroll. All wonderful! Thank you.
Happy belated one of my favorites. Not only has Garry inspired me to love and write poetry, but also he has helped me to appreciate nature at a deeply spiritual level. As a Christian, I may not share the same religious perspective as Garry, but as humans we can agree that nature is beautiful and worth the effort to protect. Cheers to you Garry, and my best wishes for your health and many more years to come!

Today, all of the Marxist “tenured” professors have total power, and drive free thinkers off campus, shutting down free speech like no one could ever have imagined generations ago.
