Ashad : 4 mana (1 colorless + 1 grixis), copies the FIRST- NON LEGENDARY-ARTIFACT SPELL that you CAST every turn Sixth Doctor: 2 more mana, copies 1 historic spell each turn doesn't matter if it's the first or the 4th and you're in simic Yeah Ashad isn't underrated, it's as bad as it sounds. Tried to make it work and when it's not being a magnet for the table is just there doing nothing.
Nice video. Just got into MTG myself thanks to the LOTR collection. This video has everything a good pack opening needs. Keep up the good work, i'll keep an eye out for new content.
Haktos the Unscarred must run all torbor orb effect cards , this way you dont have to trigger his etb effect ( protection from every CMC) and u stop every opponent etb. Run all X damage spells you can choose the CMC to make sure Haktos stay on board.
For me it's Vhal candlekeep researcher. Checking on edhrec, she barely has 2000 decks on there, counting all background variations. Which is outrageous. She can be built in so many different ways. I got one of the typical "infinite mana combo" with her and raised by giants, but as long as you got a way to pump her a little bit, and stuff to do and cast that isn't your hand (like the top of your library, graveyard, even foretell or exile) she can be a fun commander. Activated abilities of cards like cycling or channel are also NOT casting, so you can use her mana. God, I love my nerd girl
I have a Vhal, Candlekeep Researcher and Haunted one Deck that primarily wins through combos that have >=5 cards and are very complex. example: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4vTKC8ZVgOg.html
I'm honestly not sure if "underrated" is an appropriate term anymore. THAT implies that people have had time to try it out and, well, RATE it in the first place. WOTC's been putting out so much product (and an absolutely absurd amount of new legendaries in that product) that, if it wasn't a mythic they've shoved in everyone's faces, a face commander, or obviously busted, most may not even know they EXIST yet, let alone have had time to actually BUILD them. Why, in the time it took you to read this response, you've probably already missed 3 sets, 5 secret lairs, and a UB tie in set. To use the radar analogy... Nothing is going "under the radar" at this point.... because the radar is just showing a solid blot of red coming at us and we don't have time to pick apart what any of it actually IS.
I have to recommend Concerted Effort for any Haktos deck. Concerted Effort- Enchantment 2WW: At the beginning of each player’s upkeep, all creatures you control gain flying until end of turn if a creature you control has flying. The same is true for fear, first strike, double strike, landwalk, protection, trample, and vigilance. Concerted Effort and Hakdos will give ALL your creatures protection from everything except the chosen mana. You're also likely to be able to give ALL your creatures several useful keywords just from creatures you're already playing anyway.
www.moxfield.com/decks/BUU_bNnPFkyFqmhbf719kg My lists for these commanders are $50 budgets or less, but this deck is easily upgradable by putting in some of the more expensive dragons like Old Gnawbone and the Ancient Dragons
@@bruddahswar Any reason to don't run typical green ramp like Farseek or Cultivate or format staples such as Arcane Signet or Sol Ring? Thanks for this video, I really liked it!
@@francesc3048 I tend to enjoy running cards that contribute to the theme of the deck, or allow it to "do the thing" better. I also just tend to exclude sol ring/path to exile/swords to plowshares as at $1 a piece they can surprisingly cut down the budget that I have to work with. Also super easy for players to just sub in the staples that they enjoy playing with compared to some of the weaker/less fun cards in the deck.
Great combo! I didn't know about First Day of Class, but I prefer to exclude infinites in my lower power decks. This deck is aimed at an intro type of deck so people don't have to sink as much money into the hobby to start, but as far as a power upgrade goes that would really improve it.
Yeah a lot of the Dr. Who cards flew way under the radar (excluding some of the blue ones lol) one of my favorites is Sycorax Commander which is a creature that etbs and either makes your opponents wheel or take damage equal to cards in hand, instant include in my Nekusar deck.
@@bruddahswar nice choice! I kept that in my Davros deck, along with most of the other villainous choice cards and some extra burns. My favorite at the moment has to be the “The Master, Mesmerist” which I simply made a skulk tribal deck out of.
@@kingdedede933 I was thinking about including The Master, Mesmerist in the 99 of my next budget deck video but I decided against it lol, fun card though.
Do you feel like it's somewhat because it's from a universe beyond set? I see a lot of players say they won't touch cards solely for them being from a universe beyond set.
My favorite card in the deck is Squee, but that's because he's one of my favorite characters in the magic lore. Other than that I would say Ingot Chewer because I really like that evoke will trigger the descend mechanic. If I were to make this deck a higher budget I think I would upgrade some more of the board control/removal spells, so giving myself some more board wipes like Damn and Toxic Deluge would really help this deck because a lot of our creatures are able to be brought back from the graveyard anyway.
